Did we throw a single slant across the middle?
The lateral,passing game was obviously scouted and not working.
But never a TE across the middle to pull the linebackers off the line.
Just no creativity in the offensive game plan.

Are the recruiting rankings wrong? Have they not been coached well?
I recall some of the Clemson football cult members here assuring us that our WRs this year are just as talented as the WRs we have had in years past.

The rankings aren't wrong. It's not that they are coached poorly.
The problem is that most of these guys are the same type of player. It's not like the old days, where you had some speed burners, some possession guys, some jump ball guys.
It would be like having a basketball team full of small forwards, with no point guard, center, etc.

ND played their LBs back 5-8 yards of line of scrimmage - right in the slant lanes. The real question is why we could not run the ball against their 4-man front. I know why, we have a D3 Oline.
