from someone at SMU saying they are talking to all these conferences - including the ACC - as a sign that the ACC is seriously considering this. People are naive if they dont think that almost every school talks to others all around to continually assess what's going on. If you're SMU, Clemson, ND, BC, anyone, you're always talking to others. But you don't just go tell the press and public you are.

The ACC needs to pull in six more football schools to get to 20 teams. WV, Cinci, Ok St, two from Texas (TCU, SMU, Texas Tech, Baylor- doesnt matter which two) and then I would look either at Navy(brings in Maryland TV) or Arizona St ( ties in mid west and they are a huge school) Sitting idle and waiting will be the demise of the ACC

Make that 7 because Clemson doesn’t need to be a member of that bush league group.

Yes SMU is in Dallas but why not go for TCU then? Honestly if you wanted to expand west Into Texas I would grab Texas Tech then TCU. I can’t see the ACC going religious so Texas Tech it is

That’s why I said “Texas Tech it is” reading comprehension isn’t your strong suite . I laid out three teams -SMU TCH and TT. If I were in charge and felt moving to west into Texas I wouldn’t consider SMU. I would consider TCU and Texas Tech. Then, realizing I am indeed not in charge and the likely hood of ACC accepting a religious school not named Notre Dame being 0% I said “Texas Tech it is “. As you were.

Good grief, you surely haven’t checked lately. Morris is on his second job since leaving SMU already. He bombed at Arkansas and was fired and is coaching at Allen High School in the Dallas area now. I knew some of you didn’t follow the game, but this really confirms that.

Yes, he is leaving. He’s an Aggy so not much character and I believe highly overrated as a coach.

The ONLY response for the ACC that will even remotely move the needle would be adding ND. And even then, the ACC would still be a very distant 3rd, and not really in the same stratosphere as the SEC or B1G. It might keep the conference alive for a little while.
But why would ND even consider that when they could just join the B1G at their leisure? They basically have an open invitation that's always there whenever they want to take it.

College of Charleston and UNC Charlotte have pretty good Bball teams, don't they? They'd fit in a Clemsonless ACC.

Adding SMU will keep the ACC football at 14 after Clemson leaves.
