According to this, if we could get accepted by SEC or BIG, we would make about $40mil more per year, we would benefit just to leave after '25-26, we would start making money over the $75mil by '28. No reason to pay $75mil to if we are going to leave before new TV contracts. The numbers dont lie except not sure how to calculate the ACC Performance Bonuses but I highly doubt they compensate for making $80mil in BIG vs $40mil in the ACC.

The math, as you say, adds up to leave after 2026 season. If we can make 40 million per year more in another conference. If I was Clemson, I would start talking to SEC and BIG now to see if one of them would take us after the 2026 season. If we win a natty this season, that should help open that door. Strike while the iron is hot.

I think that $40 Million number is dated. Every ACC team made more than that this year. Probably closer to $50 million with the SEC/B1G making $55-$60 million.

and the ACC # is not a fixed amount. It goes up every year even

without the bonuses that could drive our #s much higher. There is also no guarantee at this point that new B1G and SEC contracts will be more next go around. It will depend on if the networks determine they overpaid on these current contracts. Bottom line there are a lot of moving parts and things to consider.

Wow - according to this article CU did quite well in the litigation. The financial benefits obtained through the litigation easily paid for its legal costs. Well done Neff.

The ACC will be down at least 3 teams by 2030. The most likely- Clemson, FSU and Miami (or UNC). From what I have read though UNC football ratings don't move the needle that much for the BIG and SEC TV contracts, Clemson and FSU especially do.

He hasn't and he won't get every decision right. No one does. But he's done very well at navigating these last few years and has us well-positioned to move forward with or w/out the ACC. Kudos Graham!!

I think we are in the Big by 2028. That will be in time for the next contract sign by 2030 and we should be a full partner.

From day 1 Clemson and FSU....

.... through the leadership of their AD, President and Board of Trustees have been proactive. Every step they have taken has been well planned and well executed. In spite of what the ACC, most of the media, and many fans were saying while the lawsuit was being filed and litigated, FSU and Clemson were not being led by a bunch of rubes who were way out of their league.
As time goes on, we will probably learn that the two schools were far more coordinated in their planning and strategy than we now think.

Exit fee to leave in 26-27 = $147 million.

Clemson and FSU would pay that in a heartbeat if the B1G and/or SEC promised them membership.
That is why this settlement was a HUGE win for Clemson and FSU. And, that is why this probably accelerates the timeline for B1G and SEC to form a SuperLeague.
