ACC - what a goofy conference

Clemson baseball finishes 18-12 one game behind regular season champs Ga Tech at 19-11 but 5TH in the standings because Florida State, UNC and NC State get the advantage of not having to play a full conference schedule of 30 games. I know rainouts and cancellations are tough to re-schedule, but that seems silly.

The acc is the most mismanaged conference. I think the rest of the teams get to
‘Drop’ three games of their chosing to be fair.🤣. Then, look at percentages.

Well give FSU a little break, they cancelled those wk games when the on campus shooter thing happened. But other schools should have to prioritize ACC makeup games over playing midweek cupcakes. Just my opinion.

That potentially hurt Virginia too. What if they win the fsu series. Which uva was playing good.. so they could have even swept fsu and finished 1st.

Yeah, that was just a tragic situation and imo the schools and the conference handled it correctly.
As for the rainouts etc. They do a pretty good job trying to schedule double headers etc. But for the rare occasions like unc and nc st, I'd tell every school to eliminate any mid-week games the last 2 weeks of the regular season. That is when affected teams could make up the conference games. Easily done, just like we did, have 2 mid-week games early season.

The simple solution was to win a couple more games.

The ACC can be goofy but this issue is pretty standard for all conferences.

My gripe of the day is our softball games can only be seen on espn +. I already pay $80 per month for YTTV just to get ESPN and now I can’t watch the games w/o paying extra

Catch most of the baseball games on plus as well. Being an avid golf fan they start the coverage at 8am for most tournaments so I am catching more golf as well.

Being at the PGA this weekend it started making sense on why they do charge more. With all that extra coverage the amount of cameras, guys getting the yardages for tv, microphones insides the ropes and the number of play by play personnel inside the ropes was unbelievable. Payroll has to be a stupid number. Beauty is you only pay if you want the service instead of it being lumped in by your subscriber which would increase it for everyone. Everyone has no interest in ESPN+. I have YTTV and it’s a fair price but have multiple subscriptions as well. Some I rarely use. Currently have acquired FanDuel to catch the Braves games. Dead in the water on catching their games without it.
