As I and others have said for awhile, the proposed settlement has little chance of being approved as it is currently written come this spring. The plantiffs attorneys love the terms because they want to get PAID sooner rather than later. The defendants want this one to go away post haste and the terms proposed are great for them. As highlighted in the article, we have conflicting interests amongst the current plaintiffs, numbers proposed are completely arbitrary along with Title IX and antitrust issues. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that several state AG's allege certain provisions of the proposal violate state laws. All of this is a recipe to be hung up in litigation for some time.
