41-15 regular season finish

I don’t know what anybody else thinks. But that’s a dang good finish. Regardless of what happens in the ACC tournament that might just be enough to host a regional. I mean how often do you see a team with 41 wins not hosting a regional?

Almost identical to last year, and I tend to think this team isn’t quite as good. Still if we win a game in the tournament I’d bet it’s a lock to host.

We’re back to 10th in RPI. We will host and can still play back into top 8 seed. Probably need to make ACC final.

40 wins have been the goal in past years. Don't know if that still holds true.

We're a definite lock to host. If ga tech holds on to win, they'll be the acc regular season champs. I'd posted earlier that it appears Oregon St is a lock for hosting above us... projeted 9th and unc is projected 8th. So I agree with others, deep run and possibly have to have unc lose, not be in the championship game. If unc makes the championship game, we'd have to beat them for national seed. There won't be 3 acc teams in the top 8... and all the pundits have fsu as a lock.

In 2024 - the 8 top RPI teams were the top 8 seeds, just in a slightly different order. In 2023 - 6 of the 8 were top 8 with only Stanford (only west coast team) and Virginia as outliers. Kentucky and South Carolina were bumped down.
The ACC has had 3 top 8 seeds that last 3 years. When moving outside the top 8 RPI teams it has been ACC teams promoted above SEC teams. The ACC is the 2nd best conference. Oregon State + 4 SEC + 3 ACC would not be out of line. The ACC & SEC represented all top 8 seeds last year.

FYI: Local news says Oregon and Oregon State will both be hosting regionals.

we had 2 more wins than unc, 3 more than tech, 5 more than fsu and 8 more than ncs. pathetic when you get rewarded for not playing a full schedule.

That should definitely be good enough to host. 40+ wins, Top 10 RPI, no “bad” (Q3-4) losses. Should be a lock

We’ve had a lot of good regular seasons in the past 8 years. It’s time to get back to Omaha. Anything outside of making it to Omaha is a disappointment. I’d rather go 32-23 and make it to Omaha than go 41-15 loose in the regional.

After reading most of the posts I only see one way to make a top 8 seed, sweep the tournament. I do believe we will be national seed, between 11-14 because of the 14 SEC schools they going to throw in.
Is forty wins great? Absolutely! Are we ready to win it all? I don’t think so. Why? Loss of two arms to Tommy John that could have been weekend starters really hurt us. Titsworth’s emergence has been a great surprise. Some of the young arms out of the pen are starting to believe as well. Post season wins come down to pitching. Elite pitching trumps hitting.
Can we make a deep run to the CWS? I think so. If Knaak stays hot, Titsworth continues to improve, and those freshman arms continue to improve anything is possible. However, it’s hard to impossible to outscore teams with elite pitching (sub 3 ERA).
All that said, ANYTHING can happen. We could get hot and burn through everyone. We also could get swept and go home early. I’m praying for the former! Let’s go!
