2026 QB Tate Reynolds

just picked up his 2nd CB to Clemson in 2 weeks. He was offered after attending camp earlier in the month. Based on the film on his 247 page, he can run and sling it. He's not a 5-star but has time to develop over his senior year. Let's hope coach Riley sees something he can mold into a star.

He still has two years in high school to develop his physical tools***

Any chance he gets drafted by MLB and won't be around for a full football career at Clemson? How good is he at baseball and what is his main sport? Thanks ahead of time for the insight.

From what I've read, it seems he's better at football and really likes what Clemson has to offer.

He’s better at baseball right now. Committed to Arizona St. in the 8th grade. Late comer in football but developing quickly.

Yes much better at baseball got a later start playing football. Have to trust the coaches, but I think Vizzina, Hebert, and Tate are all very raw physically gifted players, but can they become good QBs? We’ll see.

So another words more 8 and 9 win seasons but I suppose that's better than 5 like the coots.

To be fair, it is a risky pick right now that could pay off. One assessment:

Reynolds is a big, strong multi-sport athlete with some obvious upside to him. He’s not just a talented football player but one of the region’s top baseball prospects as well and committed early to Arizona State before backing off his pledge in late June. He has a strong 6-2, 210 pound frame and shows off a strong arm and the ability to get the ball down the field. He can run around and make plays with his legs and looks more like a fullback than a quarterback when he’s running zone read or gets loose in the secondary. He’s a tough kid who will stand in the pocket and take a shot to deliver the football and doesn’t shy away from contact as a runner although he’ll need to temper that some at the college level. He’s still raw in some areas as a pure passer and we would like to see him improve his accuracy as well as his TD/INT ratio. Right now, he throws a lot of fastballs and will need to improve on his ability to change speeds and throw with touch. He’s a gamer though and you love the physicality he plays with and the compete level. He’s still developing but the physical tools are there and it will be fun to see where his game is at in a few years.

Sounds like a raw Tim Tebow vibe

Didn't we have a simialr situation to this a few years ago? It seems like someone committed to UGA but then flipped to us but went MLB.

Would be great if that relationship went the distance. With someone like that two years out you can also rest assured that Dabo's NIL lab is at work lining up some potential sponsor relationships that he could inherit upon arrival.

It would be nice to hear some talk about Garrett Riley settling in at Clemson and looking longer term here. That's going to be a fulcrum of sorts on our skill position recruiting after this upcoming class.

Threw for 11 TDs and 11 INTs... jeez, that's an extremely bad ratio.

3,2,1... Oh, you think you're so smart, why aren't you coaching college football?

My understanding is Riley is targeting him as his type of QB for the offense. The QB fit he desires. This might be Riley’s sink or swim moment for Clemson. Reynolds will be a solid 4 star from the services after this fall.

He's raw but he can run. He reminds scouts a good bit of Duggan---who Riley coached at TCU. That dude can flat out run he clocked a 4.5 at the NFL combines. I don't think that's a coincidence--Riley likes QB's who can run.
