Looking at the list, CBB is 5th in the ACC with big opportunities for bonuses that could take him to the top of ACC. Surprisingly he makes more than Hubert Davis at UNC who did just sign a 6yr deal for $16.7mil which avg is still less than CBB. Interesting to see what some of the top names make as compared to what some of the regular NCAAT schools actually pay.

It’s criminal that Brownlee makes more than Mark Few.

Oh, and the link shows the coaches current buyout and CBB is a little over $2mil. Check out your favorite coach to replace CBB and see how much it would cost with CBB's buyout along with the replacement's buyout. Obviously a factor.

It's not going to matter this off season. Did you see how relaxed Coach Brownell was at presser today...

I heard he said he was concerned about knocking the rust off. Yet I was under the impression they welcomed a break? I'm sure CBB has this team fired up ready to go, hopefully unlike ACCT where they obviously hadn't knocked the rust off yet.

UNC is one of the most desirable basketball jobs in the country.

There has to be more to what they pay their head coach than what is posted as their salary. There has to be more to the compensation package than that.
Do you really believe that Kansas pays their head coach nearly $10 million a year but UNC only pays theirs a quarter of that? Come on.

Yes. Bill Self has been there forever. Hubert Davis hasn’t earned it yet. Brad hasn’t earned his. And your numbers aren’t accurate and neither are the OPs. As I’ve posted dozens of times, there is no standardization to these figures. If you read the fine print USA Today goes by reported final compensation. Bennett makes more because he earns it. His base is lower than Brownell. Next season it will be lower by more than a million. I know that Brad has a base salary higher than all but 2 ACC coaches - that includes Tony Bennett and Hubert Davis.

If Brad loses in the first round he is over paid. Honestly losing in the acct the way he did was embarrassing. Just off of that I’d say he’s overpaid. He makes more than Mark Few. Few makes Brad look like a child.

Not top 30 or top 40 in salary as is often erroneously stated here.
He is clearly not overpaid.

Also, cost of living matters. But Brad clearly earns more than he performs.

If you really dive into financials and compare base salary to base salary he’s 3rd in the conference. These figures are based on actual compensation which includes incentives.

Calipari at Kentucky? Even basketball crazy as they are, I don't think they are ponying up that to be rid of him, even after last night's disappointment.

You could say that about most of the coaches paid less than Mark Few. You could say we are getting a good value in CBB at #46 but we are a top 30 team. I am not a big fan of CBB, and before seeing the list I thought he was overpaid, but looking at that list he is not. Or a lot of schools are overpaying their coaches.
