$2,000 tariff rebate checks?

So, let's keep score:
-The unconstitutional and soon to be overturned tariffs have raised praises and, as all tariffs are, have been simply a tax on the American people. -The Trump admin is floating giving each citizen who (likely) makes $100,000 or less a rebate of $2,000. -The tariffs have raised $120 billion in tax thievery of our own citizens; giving all those people $2,000 would cost $300 billion. So, additional government spending of $180 billion. -And what happened last time the government sent out checks (COVID) to the entire populous? Yeah. Prices went up.
What in the sam #### are we even doing here?

And how stupid do you have to be to pretend you're a conservative and support more government spending through free money that just raises prices.
But we don't expect you to understand much about the economy.

I'd have to assume that most people who are actual graduates, and not just sidewalk fans, are in a good enough situation where they will not qualify for this check.

He had a bad week last week, with the elections, the Supreme Court slapping him around, and the continuing shutdown, and was just spitballing things to get people to like him again. He’s very emotionally fragile.

offering a "rebate" because we're bringing in all this "extra" revenue - when we all know (or should know) the American consumer and American companies paid all of this extra revenue.
There were 109.8MM tax returns with AGI under $100k in 2022. Assuming that will be the threshold and that the total returns is about the same, that is $219.6BB in "rebates".
The projected 2026 federal budget deficit is projected to be >$1.7TT (yes Trillion).
So, there's no "paying off debt" either way...at this point, there is slightly reducing the deficit.
Also, if part of the tariff scheme is reversed by the SCOTUS, there will almost certainly be refunds issued...which will also be a total CF.
So, like with most Trump proclamations, we're left with a lot of What The Eff and sycophants praising Trump's brilliant decisions.
Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector dropped for the 8th straight month (by non BLS measures still available) and inflation remains "pesky".
Oh...Oh...and anyone think about what recycling this $219BB in rebates will do to inflation pressures? No, of course not.

They're going to charge me $200 for a bag of apples. But they'll issue me a check in a few months for $150 as a rebate for all the extra money they're getting on the apples.
This is great.

You have PDS, you’re just triggered because you’re a Food Lion supporter and you don’t like anything Publix does.
