Yea that’s just college football now a days lol I wouldn’t mind paying a top 3 overall player and best Oline in class 2 mill if had plenty of money for others and didn’t have to come out of my pocket lol. Wouldn’t be mad if Clemson did this if we didn’t have to lose someone to secure the money. Go Tigers!!

They think the product that produces the profit deserves its cut. I can understand the premise but think the lack of process and direction creates a lot of haves and have nots that unfairly penalize lesser programs with fewer resources.
People will argue for capitalism and letting the market dictate but the inequities will take a toll and will ultimately bring about some form of reorganization in the future.

You'd expect someone getting paid that kind of money to come in and be an instant impact kind of player and even then at a marquee position. This guy's gonna have a lot of pressure to produce right away but then again he could always just cash the checks and be terrible and sit on the bench and not give a #### and it would be the same difference to his bank account.

He is the top rated recruit in the nation by some at any position, so I guess they think he is worth a 2 million dollar risk. I bet if DJU was coming out of HS now he would get 2 million or something close. You just never know.

You need the big uglies to win in college football but it also seems so risky to spend that on a lineman. Sometimes even the top ranked offensive linemen aren't really ready to play for a year or two. Look at the guys like Tristan Leigh who still has not quite lived up to his ranking.
