15 y/o son of just tested postive

Started feeling bad Friday 7/3
He went to ex-wife of's house on Sunday 7/5
She took him for testing 7/7 - positive test came back today. She was also told only to quarantine him during the wait for the test, not herself or other family members. He never got really sick - just felt bad for 4-5 days.
Son of is back at my house today. Since he's "10 days" from feeling ill, he doesn't have to quarantine any more, even now with positive test (this one I really don't understand).
Now I'm having a conversation with my boss about the need for me to quarantine. Do I need to until 14 days after my last exposure to him (7-5 to 7/19?) Also told that I don't have to get tested unless I feel sick. Holy moly, if that doesn't make me feel sick, I don't know what will.
Nobody else - step parents, siblings, etc., feeling sick.
Fun times.
P.S. - Does this mean I can play football again?

Everything is a guessing game because we have never experienced this before.

Check this one out. Three year old granddaughter was exposed to young lady giving her swim lessons. This was on a Tuesday. On Saturday the swim instructor called my daughter to let her know she tested positive and was showing Systems. Now this was the 4th of July. My daughter and both granddaughters were tested the next Tuesday. Three year old test positive. Seven year old tested negative along with my daughter. My wife, myself and my daughter's in-laws were tested seven days later and we all tested negative. Three year old goes back for another test tomorrow. She is showing no symptoms at all.

Your experience actual mirrors what many studies are finding -

Children get it but generally have minor symptoms and rarely spread it.
That is why the thought of children not going back to school is maddening to me.

Remember teachers & staff. I have two friends whose wives

are teachers. One friend is over 60 and has diabetes. The other is over 50 and is a cancer survivor _ free of any issue for about 20 years. Both voted for DJT. Both are more reserved as their spouses prepare to return to school ... in Florida nevertheless. I am concerned about the health of these type folks when schools reopen.
I also have five school age grand kids, three that I see several times a week. I support day care and elementary schools fully reopening. Middle school and high school may need split schedules with online e-learning. Special required precautions need to be fully implemented.
Universities need to also reopen with options for online classes. These students are adults... they should make their own decisions. Frankly young adults are going to exhibit higher risk behavior wherever they are. College football players can also make their own decisions. They will likely behave similarly whether at home or in school. However these players will get better health monitoring and treatment at school than at home.

Very good news that y'all tested negative. There are so many false positives, it makes it scary to get tested even if you think you're negative. I wish all of you the best. Stay healthy always.
