College football winning conference and making playoffs, basketball team crushing it, baseball team crushing it. Soccer, lacrosse, etc.
Has there even been a better year for tiger sports top to bottom?

Mind blowing that we lost to them in football or basketball. Especially basketball.

Yes losing to Gamecocks in football and basketball in my mind erases any ‘best year’ conversation.

In history (and now for most) all sports not FOOTBALL are things to have fun with when there is no football.

Yep. Those three years are the ones.
2016 might be because those of us in college in 1981 thought we might not see another national championship. 2018 might be because there was a reason to think that the good times might never end.

To say that its across the board is a stretch.
FB winning ACC & making CFP was good but they definitely left things on table that could've made it much sweeter. Soccer teams took a step back last year after NCAA title & College Cup runs. WGolf has taken noticeable step back from past 2 seasons & MGolf is on pace for their postseason streak to end (barring a miracle March & April).
But definitely plenty of good to enjoy as a Tiger fan. MBB is on cusp of having a historical season, hopefully it will pan out that way in postseason. Both tennis teams are playing great & ranked Top 25 for 1st time in years. Baseball having a great start & softball has found a groove (they still got plenty of season left). Women's track just won ACC indoor title & lacrosse appears on the way to a breakout season. Alot of optimism in spring practice period for football w/ new DC & retuning bulk of the players + getting significant pieces in the portal.

Best year in Clemson sports history that we didn't win a national championship.
I used to make this argument for a few of the years that I was in school (86-89), excluding 1987, when we won a soccer championship.
There were no football playoffs then, but we won multiple ACC championships plus our bowl games, and won 10+ games a year in years with 11 regular season games and no ACCCG. Baseball was really good, too. My senior year, hoops was a heartbreaking buzzer beater from Elite 8, and won the regular season championship. Soccer and baseball were rolling.

Little early for baseball. But overall a rock solid year.

Football: ACC Champs, playoffs, finished #14 in AP, #11 in Coaches. Basketball: Ranked in #11 and top 3 in the conference...NCAAs bound. Baseball: Currently ranked #11 and swept SC. Women's Lacrosse: Ranked #7 in the country, 5-0 Men's Soccer: Finished ranked #9 in the country. Women's Gymnastics: Currently ranked #28, which isn't earth shattering but there are a lot of well-established programs to go up against here. Men's Tennis: Currently ranked #23 Women's Tennis: Currently ranked #24
Gotta get that Softball program back on top. Women's soccer seems to ebb and flow. And Women's basketball...I don't know what to do about that.
But overall this is a rock solid performance by Clemson's athletic department.
