"Particulate" is NOT how viruses transmit. They are lighter than air and emanate like a cloud from the shedding (infected) person.
There is not one study that shows any effect on viral transmission in a population from wearing masks.

TI Effectiveness of public health measures in reducing the incidence of covid-19, SARS-CoV-2 transmission, and covid-19 mortality: systematic review and meta-analysis. AU Talic S, Shah S, Wild H, Gasevic D, Maharaj A, Ademi Z, Li X, Xu W, Mesa-Eguiagaray I, Rostron J, Theodoratou E, Zhang X, Motee A, Liew D, Ilic D SO BMJ. 2021;375:e068302. Epub 2021 Nov 17. OBJECTIVE: To review the evidence on the effectiveness of public health measures in reducing the incidence of covid-19, SARS-CoV-2 transmission, and covid-19 mortality. DESIGN: Systematic review and meta-analysis. DATA SOURCES: Medline, Embase, CINAHL, Biosis, Joanna Briggs, Global Health, and World Health Organization COVID-19 database (preprints). ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR STUDY SELECTION: Observational and interventional studies that assessed the effectiveness of public health measures in reducing the incidence of covid-19, SARS-CoV-2 transmission, and covid-19 mortality. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The main outcome measure was incidence of covid-19. Secondary outcomes included SARS-CoV-2 transmission and covid-19 mortality. DATA SYNTHESIS: DerSimonian Laird random effects meta-analysis was performed to investigate the effect of mask wearing, handwashing, and physical distancing measures on incidence of covid-19. Pooled effect estimates with corresponding 95% confidence intervals were computed, and heterogeneity among studies was assessed using Cochran's Q test and the I2 metrics, with two tailed P values. RESULTS: 72 studies met the inclusion criteria, of which 35 evaluated individual public health measures and 37 assessed multiple public health measures as a "package of interventions." Eight of 35 studies were included in the meta-analysis, which indicated a reduction in incidence of covid-19 associated with handwashing (relative risk 0.47, 95% confidence interval 0.19 to 1.12, I2=12%), mask wearing (0.47, 0.29 to 0.75, I2=84%), and physical distancing (0.75, 0.59 to 0.95, I2=87%). Owing to heterogeneity of the studies, meta-analysis was not possible for the outcomes of quarantine and isolation, universal lockdowns, and closures of borders, schools, and workplaces. The effects of these interventions were synthesised descriptively. CONCLUSIONS: This systematic review and meta-analysis suggests that several personal protective and social measures, including handwashing, mask wearing, and physical distancing are associated with reductions in the incidence covid-19. Public health efforts to implement public health measures should consider community health and sociocultural needs, and future research is needed to better understand the effectiveness of public health measures in the context of covid-19 vaccination. SYSTEMATICREVIEW REGISTRATION: PROSPERO CRD42020178692.

1. That is a combined study that includes 3 variables- masking, hand washing and public distancing. Of course if any variable is effective then the combined results will show efficacy. Physical distancing works if a virus is transmitted by proximity, obviously.
2. Systemic reviews are weak studies.

Expelling droplets from your mouth and nose filled with a virus is how they transmit. Common sense tells you masks help prevent those droplets from spreading around.

"The meta-analysis of RCTs found a significant protective effect of facemask intervention"
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41398-022-01814-3Efficacy and practice of facemask use in general population: a systematic review and meta-analysis - Translational Psychiatry In recent decades, respiratory infections, including SARS, HINI and the currently spreading COVID-19, caused by various viruses such as influenza and coronavirus have seriously threatened human health. It has generated inconsistent recommendations on the mandatory use of facemasks across countries on a population level due to insufficient evidence on the efficacy of facemask use among the general population. This meta-analysis aimed to explore (1) the efficacy of facemask use on preventing respiratory infections, and (2) the perceptions, intentions, and practice about facemask use among the general population worldwide. We searched PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Science, Cochrane, bioRxiv, and medRxiv databases since inception to August 17, 2020. From 21,341 records identified, eight RCTs on facemask in preventing infections and 78 studies on perception, intention, and practice of facemask use among the general population were included in the analysis. The meta-analysis of RCTs found a significant protective effect of facemask intervention (OR url=https://www.nature.com/articles/ 0.84; 95% CI = 0.71–0.99; I2 = 0%). This protective effect was even more pronounced when the intervention duration was more than two weeks (OR = 0.76; 95% CI = 0.66–0.88; I2 = 0%). The meta-analysis of observational studies on perception, intention, and practice on facemask use showed that 71% of respondents perceived facemasks to be effective for infection prevention, 68% of respondents would wear facemasks, and 54% of respondents wore facemasks for preventing respiratory infections. Differences in perception, intention, and practice behavior of facemask use in different regions may be related to the impact of respiratory infections, regional culture, and policies. The governments and relevant organizations should make effort to reduce the barriers in the use of facemasks.

We're supposed to believe you're a board certified physician yet you have no understanding of viral embedment in respiratory droplets? Viruses have MANY vectors of transmission. Respiratory viruses absolutely spread through respiratory droplets. An infected person is not exclusively shedding naked virions.

After that, bits like minor sinus infection. Keep getting exposed and keep strong natural antibodies is best defense against Covid.

The first time I complied. I’m a pretty laid back person. But, if the mask police try to force people this time, the result will not be the same.
I’m not going back there again and if any narcissistic, control seeking, virtue-signaling “public health expert” (who probably not only appears to be a miserable person but should in any common sense world disqualify themselves from that title by their obesity alone) tries to make me, it’s not going to go well.

Ya'll anti mask folks better watch out. THEY are coming to get YOU. THEY will take away your civil liberties and your rights. YOU better vote for some dudes like DONALD that will protect YOU.
In the meantime, THEY will not target those of us who have no problem wearing masks, when needed, which is not now. WE will not lose any civil liberties. THEY are only targeting YOU, not US.
Darwin warned us it would all be self inflicted. He was correct.

Antibiotics for a viral infection? Not taking a position here, but that sounds odd unless there is some fear of a secondary bacterial infection. Remember we have a big problem with overuse of antibiotics.

My doc does same. Antibiotic for Covid. Said he has learned that it and of itself is not serious, it is the secondary bacterial infections it causes that make us seriously ill. He said in hindsight, he thinks the patients that died of "Covid Pneumonia" actually died of bacterial Pneumonia but they did not give antibiotics because CDC said not to. Said he has not lost a patient since he started giving antibiotics.

Same with mine. She said she does not recommend Paxlovid for patients with mild symptoms because of the side effects. She even mentioned it’s possible adverse effect on patients who are on blood thinners and statins. I think she is really treating the congestion and discomfort, like you would a cold as opposed to treating the virus itself.

And called it science, the censored anyone who challenged the lie…lol
The resturant mask going in & going out kept those chasing germs from getting on all those tables you walked by before you took yours off to eat!!!
The mask Karen’s were crazy eating up being hall monitors and the grown folk here that got worked up about anyone challenging how foolish it was.
I’m sure many of the ones that swallowed it hook line and sinker still get upset instead of looking at the truth.
I love them all it’s not worth fussing about but it’s hard to play the game when you understand how foolish it is to wear the same face coverings day after day lol. If you know about medically clean.
We’ll never forget how they tried to divide us into those who comply and those who question things that make no sense.
I never made an issue of it but my mind couldn’t believe it.

N-95 mask are effective, others not so much.
As folks wear regular mask the chance of touching their face increases. Tugging to drink, eat, catch fresh air , get comfortable etc.reduces even the effectiveness of N-95 mask. There's a lot bs and scare tactics beginning again.
