After week 1, I believe that...

If we beat FSU, we will win out. The only team on our schedule that worries me is us. Ball St, Furman, Wake Forest, and BC should be over at halftime. NCST looked terrible against Tenn. FSU is good but we will have seen a decent sec team, a high octane spread, and then have a week of rest. Duke looked better than normal but it was against FIU. Maryland needs more than a QB it needs a new coach and team. GT doesn't have depth defensively and offensively the look average. VT is....improved??? I will buy that along with the ocean front property in Arizona. South Carolina will be the usual rivalry game. Yea it will be tough but I don't see it from there showing at Vandy.

Got drilled on here that I can only take one game at a time and I'm being pessimistic... However I share your sentiments..I like our offense A LOT!!!! FSU is now down a starting DE..Should help us out tremendously. Duke will be better this year but they're still Duke..They have a tough environment bc it is lacking any kind of environment. USC could be tough, but if SPurrier keeps putting in players when they're hurt they will be playing with a bunch of back ups by game 12. Plus we have them at home...Could be a great year! GO TIGERS!!!

Truthfully, the Auburn game scared me more than any other. Now that it is in the rear view mirror I feel a little more confident. FSU and SCar will be the two biggest bumps in the road here on out. We have owned VT recently and I like our chances with GT in the Valley. Still, FSU is deep on defense. The loss of their starting DE will not help us as much as some people think. At this point I think we have a great shot at splitting FSU and SCar for a one loss season and at least an at large bid to a BCS game.

Let's not be silly. After FSU we still have....

Virginia Tech, GT, NC State, Wake, and South Carolina. Guess what? Duke is for real this year as well. By the way, all of these teams scare me more than an overrated FSU team. I'm happy for them and their great depth at DL, but I mean come on, everywhere else they are unproven. All of these games will feature us playing with a gigantic bulls-eye on our backs. Happy for the Auburn win, but if you remove the homer glasses, we made some terrible mistakes and Auburn just did not look like that good of a team (I'm watching the replay for the fourth time now). If we play like that the rest of the year, we will lose at least three or four games...even with Sammy.

Don't include Wake in that group, they're not a good team

this year. Spin it anyway you want but we'll beat them by 4+ TD's. I don't care what day of the week it is. Both teams are heading in different directions and they're just not good enough to hang with us.
I like how you interjected humor into your post though by mentioning Duke. I LOL'd on that. Very funny! Take what's left: VT, GT, State, and So Car and what do they all have in common? They're all in the Valley. It's been a long time since we last lost a game there and I don't see it happening anytime soon. Teams play a lot differently on the road and I think things set up great for us!

You say if we play like that we will lose even with Sammy?

Why would we play like that if we have one of a few Freshman AP All-Americans in history?
With Sammy back it opens Nuke up even more, and you saw what he could do as the #1 receiver.
Not to mention Bryant showed some flashes that he may be finally getting it.
I don't think the offense will be much of a problem as long as they watch Boyd's diet for the rest of the year.

Cautious optimism. Those teams with a bad week one have

many weeks to get their act together before we play them. I think week 1 is not a good indicator for most teams.

I said last year if we made it through the first five games we should go undefeated.

FSU will be tough at home. Probably going to be a night game. My hope: a vicious cold snap hits tally. Noles play horrible in the Cold.
As for the rest of the games, I agree. Even with a loss at FSU, we could win out the rest.

These teams have plenty of time to improve and I believe familiar opponents are always tougher.

Agreed. However, this post and my opinions are solely based on week one. After week 2 my opinions may change. Our schedule is pretty well setup. Hard games at home except fsuck.
