by a score of 33-0. I would appreciate it if our resident complainers would please offer their negative assessments of UGA’s performance.

You're equating a 33-0 shut out with a game where Furman was a 1/2 yard short of a 2 possession Game.
Georgia had 479 yards and held Samford to 128 yards (19 rushing yards). They also put in their second string at halftime when they were up 30-0. Their QB completed 80% of his passes for 300 yards and their running back averaged 8.5 ypc.
We had 376 yards and were outgained by Furman, who had 384 yards (128 rushing yards). Our first string was in the entire game.

Better? I don't know. It was more dominating. Georgia did what Georgia was expected to do.

If stat lines matter then you need to look at all of them. If we call Samford/Furman about even your offense, based on reactions here to our game, is a dumpster fire and you should consider firing everyone on the offensive staff. Your defense obviously showed up to play and ours didn’t. But which unit would you rather have if you had to swap. You know it’s the defense. So, the stats today, for either team, mean exactly jack squat.

What? Did you even watch that game? We covered defense, but here were the offensive stats:
UGA: 479 total yards, Stetson Bennett: 24/35 for 300 yards and 1 touchdown, no turnover. Kendall Milton - 10 carries for 85 yards. First string left midway through the third quarter up 30-0.
Clemson: 376 total yards, DJU: 21/27 for 231, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception. Shipley: 10 carries for 68 yards. First string left with 2:51 left in the fourth quarter up 35-12.
UGA's numbers are bigger. Significantly so.

No team is "expected" to cover the spread. Spreads aren't score predictions. They are designed to make it so 50% of bets come on one side and 50% on the other. That's why they adjust through the week as more bets come in. If a team was expected to cover the spread, then the spread wouldn't change. This isn't that complicated.

How many players are you under the impression are on a football team? 26 different players recorded tackles today. I’m having a hard to reconciling that with 11 starters playing the entire game.

Defense functions differently than offenses. Defensive players get more tired than offensive players so you sub in and out at specific positions to allow some to rest. The majority of the defense at any given time are first stringers. Alabama subs much less than most teams, but had 19 players make tackles. Wake had 24. Vandy 27. Marshall 22 in their win against Notre Dame. A&M had 22 in their loss to App State. Do you think they all put in their second strings.

Sorry but Clemson playing Furman today had nothing to do with what UGA did or didn't do today. Yes, we are spoiled and that's really a good thing! Means we want to stay in the playoffs ever year. Some of us remember those bads days and if you don't continue the winning, you will start lossining those top recruits.

I’m a Samford grad so I had both games on at the same time. No comparison whatsoever. UGA was in complete control the entire time. Samford hardly moved the ball, even against UGA backups. UGA offense was vanilla early and uninterested after the half. Both teams were playing to get the game over with ASAP.
