Transfers and Opt Outs - Heres an Idea.

If the trend from last season continues, every team that doesn’t make the playoff should play walk-ons only. We’ll call them the Rudy Bowl, the Hunter Renfrow Bowl, the Stetson Bennett Bowl, et cetera.

Might as well, y’all.

Or any player who quits before the end of the year (meaning last game or bowl game) has to repay a percentage of their full ride scholarship and NIL.

I do believe that should be the #1 rule for all college athletes that accepted a full ride scholarship, and that is if they chose to turn pro before graduating, whatever pro team that takes them in the draft should have to deduct the amount of the scholarship they have use from the very first money they will be paid, and refund that money back to the Athletic department of the school that put up the scholarship money!!!

IMO, that is only fare if pro sports are going to allow college athletes enter into their level of sports before graduating from college. Either that, or all pro sports have a camp like major league baseball and paid chump change until they have been invited up to the next level, and if they don't cut it, they have to go back to the farm team they came from, or quit all together.

Unrealistically I'd prefer using the bowl game and the 15 extra practices as a pre cursor to the opener with Georgia by fielding the potential starters for the majority of the contest–

Largely agree with you.

Only concern is that, if by doing as you have suggested, we get blown out in the bowl game (which of course will not be against an elite opponent). In that circumstance, there might be recruiting ramifications.

Also, if we just play our up -and-comers in the bowl, and they all play well, then might some recruits wonder about when they will be able to reach the starting lineup.

I'd rather avoid being blown out altogether but if I had to choose, I'll take the late Dec bowl game over Georgia in the opener. Your last comment is reasonable and sound but requires a level of observation, as well as analytical introspection that I doubt many are capable of holding long enough to reach that conclusion—
