Lots of folks that don't have much... can't find happiness.
Successful folks that have a lot still not happy with one another.
What is the point and reason of getting married again?

if I remember correctly he said a couple of years ago that he was retiring only to go back on his word to her. Then he said it again and then went back on his work again by playing this season.
From what I've read she expected him to retire to spend more time with her and the family. And now he's gone back on his word.
I wouldn't be surprised if she told him enough is enough.

I don’t think certain people know what the word commitment means. If your partner has a passion and time is running out but they must do it, especially if it was their career, you got to let them do it.
What else are we here to do or experience? Life is short and Tampa Tom is a GOAT.

I agree to a point…but the man has squeezed more out of his ‘passion’ that just about anyone who has ever played the game. Part of being a success at anything is knowing when to quit. His passion has set he and his family up for generations to come and he has nothing left to prove to himself or anyone else. Besides, his kids aren’t getting any younger and they should mean more to him than anything, especially football. Can’t get those years with the kids back.

If there wasn't anything that he needed to prove to himself, he wouldn't be doing it. Some people just don't realize or understand what it takes to stay in shape to play a professional sport, it's harder than the task it's self!!! The game is 60 minutes, and the training is about 30 hours a week to stay in top physical condition to play their sport!!!!

What he has done is beyond measure and he has been incredibly LUCKY with injuries. His family has waited patiently for decades while the man has lived his dream and his passion…as you said yourself, the amount of time it takes to keep playing is enormous and that’s time away from family. He has given football his best years…time to at least give his family a few of what’s left. It’s just ego and selfishness at this point. If he made a promise to his family, then he needs to keep it. It’s not too much or unfair of them to expect.

The problem is she gave up her career for Tom. And she feels he isn’t doing the same now. I can see both sides of it.

True love won't come with every person that you sleep with. Love and lust will put two people in the same bed together, and not everybody can separate the two very different emotions. When both people truly love each other, there will never be a need for a divorce lawyer, and they are the only ones that really care that people don't know the difference in love, and lust!!!!

money and success have nothing to do with love or happiness. Some even think wealth makes it harder to be happy. Basically being very poor or very wealthy are both hard on relationships

reminds me of the movie Into the Wild, where the young college grad ends up starving to death in Alaska. He had thought going out on his own was the ultimate adventure, but he ended up writing something to the effect "happiness is only real when it is shared" as he spent his last days alone.
