There are some that's not going to like what my opinion is with these defensive guys up for the draft but it is my opinion that Dabo's decision to place Wes Goodwin as the DC and LB coach, it hurt those guys with the level of college coaching experience they had to look up to in Goodwin with him never having any on field teaching/coaching experience at any level especially where it was most needed for those guys wanting to make a go at the NFL.

IMO having Goodwin as their DC and LB's coach for those guys was the same as jumping to the 5th grade with only a 1st grade level teaching!!!

It didn't work out for Wes.... I think we all know that he may be an amazing analyst and can scheme from what we heard with the best of them, according to his time with BV and the Cardinals, but it is obvious that he did not know how to coach. Statements made by the current team with the new DC is all we need to know about the lack of intensity and coaching the fundamentals.

What always got me was how bad and awkward Wes was during an interview and in front of a camera. To this day I do not know how he was able to go into a recruit's home and convince them to come play for him. He is lost and scared public speaking in front of a camera.

Even in his interview after returning to OU with BV was painfully hard to watch. He might be Rainman in regards to breaking down film, coming up with a gameplan, and maybe even calling the right defenses, but if you can't coach the fundamentals, playing with intensity, attention to detail and gap integrity, you aren't going to have a good defense.

Bobby, I think Wes had to get serious help recruiting. Dabo was with him a lot. I know they travel in pairs anyway, but probably moreso with Wes.

I get what AO52 is saying. I also believe the two dbs that transferred, then spoke their mind on not getting the coaching was a lot of truth. Sadly they were denigrated by most posters.

In carter's situation, I think his drop is solely on him and his work ethic.

Phil probably needed to come back. I get the whole risk of injury but he had a chance to flourish this year in our offense. I hope he becomes a sleeper pick and excels.

Sadly, I don't see briny being in the league long. He's, to no fault of his own, is stuck between being a stud wr and te.

Page. One of the biggest disappointments we've had. Man, he was supposed to be the next big dex.
