should have been named to replace Danny. If they had it's a good chance we win our second national title in 1990 behind that awesome defense.

I talked to Chuck Reedy about this many years ago at my 20 yr high school reunion when he was leading my old alma mater Goose Creek High School to state championships and he said he was fully expecting to get the head coaching job at Clemson and was surprised when Ken Hatfield accepted a low ball offer. I was a walk-on tight end back in the Spring of 1980 when I first met Chuck. He is a great guy and a very good running backs coach and would have made a great head coach. He is retired now from coaching and I think he still lives in the Charleston area. My brother ran into him at a country music concert several years ago.
