This Year in Tigernet (2022-2023 Highlights)

David Hood’s “Notes and Nuggets from Camp” article yesterday proclaimed it: “…With the end of camp comes the start of downtime.”

Since downtime has officially begun, it seems worth reviewing the TNet highlights of the past 12 months: July 2022 - June 2023.

The obvious highlights included Clemson winning ACC championships in football (12/3/2022) and baseball (5/28/2023)! And Valerie Cagle winning the National Player of the Year was another great highlight. Other than those, there were many great moments and great stories in Clemson athletics this year - too many to name them all! Whether or not the secretaries travel with the sports teams seemed less of an issue.

Also, I am sure there are other highlights that I might have missed. Any that you catch and I think I should have included PLEASE list them. In particular: There were many, many answered prayer requests that could have and perhaps should have made this list of highlights. There were too many to include them all, so please accept my apologies for the ones missed.

Again, please do identify any and all highlights I have missed!!

July 2022: Pig® becomes a grandpig! Congrats, again, Pig!! Hope the grandson is doing well!! Also hope you are having fun in Greece!

August 2022: 76er® takes out a sick possum with a golf club.

August 2022: Francis Marion® begins frantically looking for his family’s pet, a sick possum named “Patches”

August 2022: clemson80tiger shares a compilation from Twitter of the top play each season over the previous 10 seasons. If you have not watched it, you should go the Hall of Fame board and pull it up from August 5. If you have watched, you should still go the Hall of Fame board and watch pull it up from August 5.

August 2022 New scoreboard at Death Valley has TNet pumped!

August 2022: argonaut1992® shared a moving story of his dad (who grew up during WW2) using a required footlocker while at Clemson (Clemson was military back then). Aronaut kept the footlocker in his dad’s memory in the attic – until now. His daughter was taking the footlock with her as a new college student. The footlocker was now travelling back to Clemson.

September 2022: La Tech coach and team show support for Ella Breese during her battle with cancer. TNet responds by making numerous $11 donations to La Tech Athletics.

September 2022: RevDodd® reappears after a long TNet absence! Sermons are just as powerful as ever!! Rev’s Sept post: “So…It’s come to this. A Blackout by Wake Forest (long)” received well over 300 TU.

October 2022: Prayers lifted for bdrechs® over spine surgery. Amen it all went well!

October 2022: tugalooriver® returns after his extended “absence.” Good to have you back, friend!

November 2022 (I think?): Mods overhaul the TU and TD system. Only paying members can award a TD. They can also see who has given a post a TD. Since I was not a paying member yet, that first week, I honestly thought the user “Upgrade to Reveal” was the most aggressive TD TNetter I had ever seen.

December 2022: Auburn fans drool over the thought of hiring Dabo. TNet rolls its collective eyes wondering if Auburn fans realize how out of touch they sound.

December 2022: Clemson wins ACC football championship! TNet celebrates!!

December 2022: Prayers lifted for Mrs Cat (IRONCAT68's wife). Again, God answered prayers as tests showed no cancer for Mrs. Cat!

December 2022: TNet introduces TNet coins. A new world currency is born!

January 2023: TNet came together and joined in joined in prayer for Mjc3194®'s young daughter facing eye surgery. The daughter then won the hearts of all of TNet wearing her shades and eating a popsicle after the surgery. It is very clear this young girl has her dad (and all of TNet) wrapped around little finger.

January 2023: A local media post discussed how Clemson quickly hired the Offensive Coordinator that Beamer wanted but couldn’t hire. The media post points out the stark differences between the status of the two programs. Beamer, obviously triggered, responded very defensively. TNet rolls its collective eyes.

February 222: Chinese spy balloon crosses U.S. TNet wants to shoot it down over Columbia.

February 2023: Clemson announces vet school is on the way. TNet celebrates and asks “What took so long?”

February 2023: Crash takes down Tigernet (Tuesday, 2/7 around 11:00). Tigernet shut down for at least an hour before reverting back to backup platform from 1:00 am and 11:00 am. All posts that had been made that day between 1:00 am and 11:00 am are now lost forever. Mods are still questioning my claim that I had prepaid for account for five years.

February 2023: tugalooriver posted pictures of the ground have been broken to rebuild his cabin! Amen, tugalooriver!! Amen!

April 2023: Francis Marion shared his experience at a “Titanic-themed party this weekend.” He even met the captain of the party.

April 2023: Darling Peach® challenges MyfavOrange® to meet "in the cafeteria at high noon." Not sure how that one played out from there!

May 2023: Jedi Kermit gets kicked out of Costco for his dog food diet.

May 2023: lightbulbbill® saw his "82nd Year of Sunrises" complete with pic (pic was sideways - aka Spud style)

May 2023: Humble Servant vs. FM Standoff: FM offers to make peace with Humble Servant. FM’s attempts are rooted in the fact that he is the only TNetter that HS has put on ignore. As FM put it, he is unsure why HS has resorted to “this unprovoked aggression: and has been fearful that finding a “peaceful resolution” might be difficult.

May 2023: Clemson wins ACC baseball championship! TNet celebrates!!

May 2023: Valerie Cagle wins National Player of the Year! TNet celebrates!!

June 2023: CBProf posts highlights of last 12 months on TNet!
