The problem with paying players for autographs

Oct 10, 2014, 12:06 PM

If the NCAA ever let players receive money for the sale of their autographs and jerseys they might as well just allow the schools to pay the players. If a player is paid for his autograph what is stopping a booster from paying $100,000 for the players autograph. All a booster has to do is tell a recruit that he will get $100,000 to play at a university. Then once the kid gets on campus the booster offers $100,000 for his autograph.

I think these kids get enough the way it is but what they must realize is that if the schools have to start paying them to come player football then the facilities and other advantages they get will start to diminish in value. Contrary to what the media says the schools don't have an unlimited supply of money.
