The Grand Ole discussion about generators

Jan 24, 2013, 12:50 PM

I've pretty much decided on the Yamaha 2000 over the Honda 2000 b/c of the fuel cutoff switch on the Yam's.

The question now is buy a used one on CL or go brand new?

I would think for something as important and expensive as a generator, might as well buck up and pay for the new one.

What say you?.....you degenerate tailgate generator queens?

If you go the Craigslist route, make sure you specify

You want a "generator" and not a "transvestite".

pretty much goes without saying...unless you are looking

for a tranny and telling your wife you are picking up a generator.

I bought online with no tax or freight and much lower retail than most advertise. If you want, I'll dig up where I got them from. Iirc, they sold yammies too.

The cheapest I've found online is wisesales.com

$970 with no tax or shipping.

Can't beat that price, unless you go to Aero's pawn store.

Yep, them and Speedway were close when I got mine. I went with Speedwaysales.com. Back in 05, they were 869 for the hondas.

Why craig's list? You can get just as high quality stolen

#### at the Pawn shop.

That's where one of mine wound up, but I got it back. I HATE a thief.

I hate a Pawnshop, as I'm certain they

do no due diligence in seeing if stuff like that is stolen.

They have a voluntary list with local LE that they

turn in on a daily basis reporting their new inventory. If an investigator is worth a crap, they reconcile every couple of days with the stuff from their cases. That's how I got some of my stuff back. Not all pawn shops do it, but most do. Dick's at the beach stopped doing the list the week after our break in. Effers.

If I ran a shop, I'd want it to go the other way around.

Jan 24, 2013, 1:50 PM

I'd want a list of all the stuff reported stolen so I could check.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's what I said. Then I wouldn't be getting my CASH

Jan 24, 2013, 2:04 PM

tied up.
