What 3 drops. He keeps referring to them. But no mention of the plays dj had a wr open. I don't remember that one with Jake being open but then TV doesn't show the field.

He has created these mystery drops to hold up his guy. Heck there could’ve been 10 drops and he’d barely have been 50 percent. Tiresome narrative.

And picks on one bad oline play. Throws mukuba under the bus. I get it, it does all add up.
I'm ticked at myself not recording it. But Here's my rub. I know DJ is no Trevor, no one else is. That said, if you go back and watch some of Trevor's games, you could pick a half dozen plays each game and say those mistakes weren't on Trevor but he and dw4 made up for the missed plays by making plays.
Same with ND game. Guess my concern is the fact we shouldn't be in the position the last 2 seasons to where 2 or 3 drops loses the game. Seriously, not these games. Yes, when you play a legit top 10 team, 6 plays or a drop can determine the difference. Not against SCar.

The pick is on DJ. If he throws it to the inside he throw's

him open and we likely get a catch. He throws it to the outside, where the defender is, and it's picked.
On the throw to #9 he was open on the out on the right but DJ got hit as he threw. That one's on the right tackle.

Any good he was referring to in the game was early and short lived. Yes we had a pick 6, our first non offensive TD all year. I wish somebody would tell him that it is OK to be pissed off and show it after a game like that.

I've always felt that Dabo did not take losing to USuC personally enough.

So calls out Makuba but still protects DJ? Receivers had 3 drops thats all 3. He makes it sound like it was 20 drops. Call out one player call out all. Stop playing favorites.
Nevermind not mentioning that the defense was put into difficult situations with short fields most of the day or they were likely tireed cause the offense couldn't sustain drives and give them a rest.
I will support the players no matter what. They play hard and give it their all but coaches need to help them. Put them in situations where they can succeed.

Dabo, you're partially right. Its not all on DJ. But a rare few games are perfect. The fact this offense has been off track for two years is painfully obvious. Its inexcusable not one game has this team had a 100 yrd receiver. There is hardly any rhythm in ANY game. WR's don't block on screens. Take note of SC bubble screens, Dabo. Much better executed. Drive killing play calls late. 7.6 yards per rush and you throw three straight wounded duck pass plays. This ain't rocket science. The eye test don't lie. This offense doesn't click under DJ. Love the kid. He seems like a fine young man. But what little time we've seen Klubnik, the offense seems smoother and definitely energized. 88,000 people in that stadium knows a QB change should have come. May not have been the answer but we'll never know. One thing we do know, that product on the field Saturday didn't work. Bottom line I don't believe the root cause is player mistakes, its coaching. Put your ego to rest and bring in some help. Seeing you like Bible verses, and so do I, here is one to chew on....The Lord resists the proud but gives grace to the humble, James 2:4

I Love & Support Coach Swinney...but the situation with DJ just Smells. I thought how you perform in Practice determined the starter @ gametime? Coach admitted Cade does Really Well in Practice ??? And we know DJ has Not been the best QB on the field at anytime this season. Also know that more Receiver Receptions did Not occur because for whatever..... Reason DJ could not or did not get the ball to them. Again if I am Cade's parents, I would definitely be considering the portal. DJ's career at Clemson is done, and as Coach says we learn and move on....No lessons have been learned at QB???

Totally agree with your comments. Feel badly for the team and Cade Klubnik....they both deserve better coaching and tough decision making.

What happened to the SPARK that we needed before? So, Dabo does believe that next QB could possibly give a spark. Well that was definitely needed Saturday. I played football and watching college football is my hobby. Over 40+ years that's a lot of games. The offense reacts to QB play. He plays bad they play bad. That sluggish struggle the Streeter mentioned is exactly what you get from others if the QB sucks. It's just human nature that this occurs. Seen it too many times.

Yes, I feel really bad for the rest of the team. I honestly can't remember seeing QB play so bad. Just stand back there never moving up in the pocket. That's coaching. Couldn't believe what I saw last year when he thought that he heard foot steps and just turned in to ball to protect himself but no one was close at that point.

You can watch just about any other team's QB on television and see the difference in pocket presence. It is beyond obvious. The only thing I can think of is that Dabo is covering for DJ or a coach until (I hope) the season is over and then they will get their walking papers.

Judgement & Accountability- who owns it?

Having allowed some emotion to subside, at least 2 questions re the loss need to be answered:
1. Given our recent tendency to fumble (at least past ~4 games), who called for a back-yard gadget play on a punt return where we made a mid-play hand-off and had 5 men (almost half the kick return team) not looking at the on-coming coverage (when we had the momentum and the lead)? Unfortunately we fumbled and the chickens scored a few plays later.
2. DJU has been coached by Streeter for 3 years, yet many of the same issues are still there. Sure there have been drops, but overthrows and high throws are still common. Timely decisions are still a problem. If it ain't DJU, and our WR were mostly 4 to 5 stars who could catch when they came here, then what is the common "its not DJU" denominator over the last 2 to 3 years?
Hint for both questions: coaching
Unconvinced? Who was blamed for uncreative / out-dated offensive play calling in the first 3 games?
Dabo has earned a pass, but this loss felt like the WVU game - unbelievably bad play after play. Time for Dabo to make a few post-season changes.

Does D.J. deserve to keep starting? Probably not. Do we have the OL or WRs that would allow Cade to be successful? Absolutely not.

It’s 2009/2010 all over again. Dabo’s hands are all over the offense, again. We are a terrible offense, again. Someone needs to tell Dabo to stay away from the offense, again.

I keep hearing about receivers dropping passes. And, they did, several, but not as many times as the QB missed our receivers by 10,20,and 30, yards. As one guy put it, some weren't even in the same zip code. Add that to the fact that the coaches, Swinney and Streeter made colossal mistakes not Benching BJ. Didn't hesitate in previous games when BJ's mistakes weren't near as many or devastating. One might suspect there is something covered up to keep him in the game. After all most injured players don't play.

It’s really frustrating. No one has mentioned or questioned why we didn’t go for two after Ships last TD. I’m not a coach but I could see we had to get off the reoccurring 2 point lead. It’s not a given we make it but sure would have been worth the try.
I’m holding out hope that Dabo will make changes after the season.

I guess he's going to hold to the narrative DJ did nothing wrong. None of the thousands of fans who saw an abysmal performance by a QB have it right. However, I do not believe DJ's performance alone cost us the game. I believe Streeter and turnovers did.

DABO's Plays called****
Nov 28, 2022, 2:02 PM

Dabo has always liked to have a ""trick play"" up his sleeve -- (1) pass to Wilkins (2) Jumbo Package with Big Dex / Wilkins - (3) fake punt type plays --- you cam bet your house, that the ""HUDDLE THE KICK PLAY"" was a Dabo special !!!!!! And would have been a "great call" if not for the fumble*** -- my feeling about the trick play at that time in the game, after we just got the safety was not needed, South Carolina & Beamer let Clemson know right away, they were trying to win ( no holes barred ) by going for first downs on fourth downs. They had nothing to loose and we tried to play not to loose, instead of trying to win**

So we the fans... seems like ALL of us... have no idea what we're talking about and only the Clemson coaches do. Hmm. Well, at some point the barrier of arrogance will be broken and jobs will be the line. I'm so disappointed and shocked in the downward spiral we're witnessing. I never thought I would see Clemson football like this. The same man that built a dynasty during his relatively short tenure seems to be destroying it even quicker. I love my Tigers and always will, but this behavior can't sustain itself. Please Dabo, humble your pride and look at what's happening.
