If TxTech choose Kingsbury over Morris

do we accept Morris with open arms, knowing that the only reason he is still with us is because he failed to get the job?

have an assistant coach who's getting lots of love/attention/respect around the country and who's taking advantage of that by taking interviews in hopes of improving his lot in his professional life, and we've got folks bashing him. Seriously--what is wrong with you people? If you were an assistant manager, would you turn down interviews to be a manager elsewhere?
For the record, if he leaves, it's not like he's disrespecting us. He's not going to do the same job elsewhere--he's going to a better job...and yes, head coach of any of the schools at which he's interviewed is a better job than OC at Clemson.
What's particularly galling about this attitude is that I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that a bunch of you are pro-business, capitalism-worshiping people who think that youth sports have gone soft because everybody gets a trophy. Well, you know what? Morris is going for the bigger job, the better paying job, and the trophy-title of "head coach," and y'all are getting your wittle feelings hurt.
If he gets a head-coaching job, you thank the man for his two years and you wish him well. If he doesn't get one (or take one) and comes back, then you still thank him, you feel great about the offensive side of the ball next year, and you hope nobody comes calling next year.
And you make a vow to stop being babies--he's not your date, and he's not breaking up with you.

I feel sorry for opposing defenses if he doesn't get the job...hanging the numbers he did on teams this year will be childs play compared to what he will do next year with the team coming back...yes that means he leaves next year instead of this year so what is better??

You really wouldn't know what all went down in the interview process so I think we would have to. In my opinion the only reason Dabo is still around is because of Morris' offense producing like it did last year.

organizations, sometimes, even churches experience sudden changes in leadership positions. One of the true tests of leadership is the ability to anticipate...to determine all possible and/or probable sets of circumstances, then devise plans for coping. Should Coach Morris leave, I would simply thank him for his services, wish him well, and rely upon Coach Swinney's abilities to cope. Hopefully, he will rise to the occasion.

Chad Morris has been here for 2 years and he is suppose to want to spend his whole career here? Hey Chad you should be content with being the OC at Clemson, all because it's Clemson. Shouldn't have the desire to better yourself or pursue what you love in being a HC, so that certain Clemson fans won't be butt hurt. I just don't get how some people can be this clueless

I see your point.......but 2 years isn't enough considering the red carpet has basically been rolled out for him. If all this had happened after what I hope to be an LSU victory so be it........but it's taken all the focus off our game and what's important. He's just lapping it up and letting fans such as myself, a huge fan of his might I add, sit an wonder.

seriously,..........he's been given gold and a great spot and should at least stay for one more year.......sounds like the team is just falling apart. But the damage is done already. All these interviews. We know he wants to be a head coach, and has tons of time. Why screw us over right before what could be one of the biggest games of our current situation for players and a start to next year and our recruits..........ALL IN.........he doesn't sound like it so much anymore..........

I think he's even been pretty upfront about wanting to be a head coach.
My personal opinion is that he's not ready - he seems to hide in big games. He abandons the run too quickly, and the SC game plan was a disaster.
My opinion aside, if T-Tech wants to pay him 7 figures for the job he wants in his home state, I say go for it.

We will be ok. If he leaves next year we will be starring a bowl game in the face and there will be a new crop of recruits we will be worrying about. CU will be fine and most of us will see the sun come up the next morning.
