UGA was very good this year but not elite, last night was more about FSU......

Was UGA one of the best 4 teams? Absolutely, just like FSU WAS NOT one of the 4 best teams and both were left out of the CFP, sucks for both of them but last night was an indicator of a significant difference in culture and coaching.
While I have zero love for Kirby, he has built his program on HS talent and mixed in a very limited number of transfers to supplement his roster. Dabo has done the same with HS talent and needs to do the same, if possible, with some limited transfers. Make no mistake about it, transfers did not win last night's game for UGA but they darn sure helped FSU get trucked by their absences.
FSU's trainwreck will help college football realize that, for the long term health of the product, there must be rules and regulations for all.

If you Think UGA should’ve made the playoffs, and they only lost to a team that made the playoffs… I’m pretty sure by definition that means Georgia is still elite. Georgia last night would’ve beat us by 20 Or more… And because we would’ve been at full strength, Kirby would’ve never called off the dogs.

good point and let me clarify, UGA, in 2023, wasnt elite by prior year standards - check their stats, game results and their loss to BAMA who struggled to beat a sorry Auburn team. That being said, among the 2023 teams (none of which I would consider elite in comparison to prior years) they would be considered "elite".
Would they have beat us this year by 20? Maybe so, but that wasn't my point as I wasnt comparing us to them. We will have our chance.

That's not how "elite" works. Their stats were still elite, just not #1 in the country in everything like the prior years. They were undefeated outside a last minute loss against the team I believe will win the national championship. And judging Alabama by a game against their biggest rival is the height of stupidity. What about us in 2018? Our greatest team ever. We got absolutely gashed by South Carolina. It had nothing to do with how good our defense actually was. Rivalry games are just freak things.
Georgia would beat our healthy team (no opt outs) about 35-13. They would demolish the Clemson team that played Kentucky.
