So...how many games does Winston have left?

FSU is frantically trying bail the boat out in regards to Jameis Winston, but it's sinking. What's going to bring him down? The FSU review board that will be governed by an independent judge? You know - you know - that Winston's lawyers used their one "strike" to remove the female justice from the case, but that still leaves the issue of an evidentiary hearing with a lower burden of proof being used as the determination for whether or not Winston violated FSU's ethics code. (He did. Either he raped the girl, as she claims, or he dumped a girl too drunk/impaired/whatever to know who and where she was off on a street corner from his motor scooter after having "consensual" sex with her, as he claims. Is that a whole lot better?) And FSU's got a much bigger problem - Title IX. If they are found to be in violation of Title IX, they could lose their federal funding - which is a far bigger hit than losing another national title would be. So their cash cow is about to get expensive...which is the reason for this whole rather impromptu hearing to begin with. It would not shock me if Winston was summarily thrown to the wolves in this review...this way FSU can claim they self-regulated, and expelled Winston before the Department of Education gets involved...which again, is an investigation of an entirely different type, and one FSU wants zero part of.
The other thing that could nail Winston - like, ten minutes from now - is this whole autograph thing. It's beyond dispute that Winston signed at least 2,000 pieces of sports memorabilia. This has already been verified. This is and of itself is not a problem - he's a prolific autograph signer, and has signed far, far more than that over the course of his college career. The problem was that this was a sports memorabilia distributor...and Winston signed all these articles in one sitting.

Remember the teacher who'd make you write "I will not talk out of turn" 500 times on a blackboard? (Well, I do. I come by my big mouth honestly, and I've always been that way.) But it's tedious. And terrible. Your hand literally goes numb. Even assuming Winston was sitting at the head of a conveyer belt as these pieces of memorabilia went by, and assuming he was signing at the speed of light - we'll say, one signature every 5 seconds - this means it took Winston a minimum of one minute per twelve objects, which the math says is one hour per 720 objects.
Considering there were more than 2,000 objects autographed, this means, with no breaks, it would take Jameis Winston a minimum of more than three hours to sign all 2,000 objects. In actuality it probably took him more than twice this long. My bet is, it took him the better part of a day. And by the end of it, I'm confident his hand was about to fall off.
Is anyone really so naive as to think he did this for free?
Now, this last bit is a "victimless crime", IMHO. To me it's the height of ludicrousness that the schools and the NCAA are allowed to profit off a college athlete's "likeness and image" but that the athlete themselves are not. Who's putting in the sweat? Who's taking the hits, and feeling the pain? To me a college athlete should be able to make every penny off their "likeness and image" that the market will bear. The problem is, that's currently forbidden by the NCAA. Georgia knows this; once they realized Todd Gurley was guilty of signing for profit, they suspended him immediately rather than knowingly play an ineligible player. The problem is, if FSU does that, they will not make it through the rest of the season unbeaten, and they know it. And there goes their second straight national title.
But there's just too much, and it's all coming to a head. The chance that Jameis Winston makes it through this year with his eligibility intact is approaching zero. And even if he does, it's looking even more doubtful that FSU's title will stick. By the letter of the law, Winston might be ineligible already...and if he is, FSU's second straight national title could well already be gone. Which makes it all the more likely that FSU will find him in violation of the student conduct code at FSU...and just have done with it.
The ironic part is, there's a scenario brewing in which the only win FSU might be credited with this year is the one they won against Clemson - without Winston.
But I suspect, and likely in less than a month, the ACC is going to be anybody's to win again. Which makes surviving tomorrow, incidentally, that much more important for Clemson....

If FSU manages to lose a single game - or if Winston gets injured - that will do it. Their season will vaporize and they can just blame it all on Winston.

It seems FSU has hitched it's wagon to Winston, putting in peril the school's reputation, the future of the program and the jobs of many, many people in the administration.
If they get Title IX'ed, they will become something of a cautionary tale and set a precident fo the rest of the NCAA.
FSU has to decide SOON if it is going to fish or cut bait.

That's dependent on whether or not FSU wins the first round of the playoff.

I responded to a jameis post on a FSU message board this week just sayin how ridiculous and immature he was, and buddy, you would have thought I called Bobby Bowden a nazi. Those people came out of the woodworks defending him. It was comical to hear all the twists they came up with to make it sound like he didn't do any wrong. Not to mention all the junk they had to say about clemson that had nothing to do with Jameis. One even said Tajh and Sammy were investigated last yr for signing autographs. Anybody heard tell of that? Cause that was the first I ever heard of that one. I really got a kick out of one guy trying to explain the autographs, how a dealer would buy a ton from people and have them authenticated by a company. I finally just gave up, it was going nowhere.

I just want to know how a kid that can't afford crab legs can afford a lawyer for a school review board hearing? Maybe that why he was signing so much stuff he was saving up for a lawyer!

And FSU will throw a perfect spiral under the bus. Problem solved.
The rape case has no evidence unless someone rolls on the cover up for Jameis. Dominos (not pizza).
Some NFL owner will take a chance. Maybe he will mature or end up in jail.

FSU has demonstrated that they will go to any depths to ensure that he plays.
