So 3 years in a row, we've played teams that "didn't want to be there?"

I'm guessing the bowl committees need to line us up with a team that wants to be there?

What's funny is during Arkansas highlights they didn't mention Texas not wanting to be there.

LSU and Ohio St played inspired so no, your statement is not true. Oklahoma however, man they were flat. "Didn't want to be there" simply means they were not motivated. You could not have watched the game and say they played their best with a straight face. We played very well. They played flat. So they got steam rolled. I have seen it happen to us before so don't act like it isn't possible (Gator vs Syracuse).

It isn't my statement.
It's what I've seen from espn, Coots, etc.
LSU didn't want to be there, Ohio St didn't want to and now Ok.
But, imho, IF those teams didn't want to be there, it speaks volumes about their characters and their coaching staffs.

It does speak volumes. But it happens. Its a possibility in every bowl not determining a NC.

Well hopefully next year we can make it in the final 4 playoffs. Maybe we'll luck up and get 2 teams that don't want to be there too!

the game started. I find it funny no one ever said we didn't want to be there when we played WVU. Funny how that works out, right?

Agreed.
Also, has someone else pointed out, our best player had surgery once we found out what bowl we were headed to. If anything, a case could be made that we didn't want to be at that bowl.

I've always hated this excuse. If you're not going to play hard in every game, stay the fuxk home. I'd rather play a 5-7 team that will play their hearts out than an 8-4 team that "doesn't want to be there." One could argue that we didn't want to be there. Our goals for the season were definitely loftier than The Russel Athletic Bowl on Dec 29, but we showed up and we showed out because we have a coaching staff that is not going to pass on any opportunity. The truth is this game was over after the first quarter. The Sooners gave up. Pathetic.

Sooner stopped for negative yardage Clemson TD first play from scrimmage Sooner interception that turned into three Sooner pick 6
The pick 6 was when they realized they didn't want to be there playing Clemson.

receiver getting in Alexander's face pregame. After Clemson abused them in the first period that took the fight out of the dog. BTW I would like to hear how the ESecPN announcers make the determination that a team wants to be there or not. The first "don't want to be there" was at the 12:04 mark of the FIRST period so they already knew. WAS it by pregame talks with the OK players and coaches? Inquiriny minds would like to know. It would really sell well for people that bet on the games.
