1. SF is the most beautiful city in the U.S. by far, as far as i'm concerned. I love that place. 2. NYC, other than the winter, is my favorite city and SF trumps it only because of NYC weather. 3. SD....best weather in the country and I currently live here and love it.

In favor of that city's teams.
Probably my top two candidates would be Denver and San Francisco. Don't like the city of Atlanta, and couldn't take the climate in Tampa, Boston, minneapolis, Milwaukee or Seattle.

Free tickets are not worth the problems inherent in residing in a major metropolitan area. Although as a resident of Clemson, an argument can be made that I live in the Atlanta metropolitan area or soon will be.

Haha, the Hawks might be worse than the Bobcats this year, and the Panthers are better this year. They are also on the cusp of being a great team. A good draft class will definitely make them real contenders.

wish they had baseball but that's OK. I couldn't go to 81 games anyway. You do say attend EVERY game. I can't handle NBA, so don't want a city that has it.
Nashville is close enough to home too.

The city is a perfect size and is one of the more white collar areas in the whole country. Has Nissan North American Head Quarters, Dell,Oreck, Gibson Guitars, Bridgestone,HCA,CHS, and of course all the major music publishing companies. The downtown area is real cool with the Preds and Titans stadiums is separated by the river (with a massive walk bridge). I live about 15 miles away from downtown in a suburb that has the best schools in the state and for all you liberals we have some of the lowest taxes in the southeast (property taxes). And for kicks there is no state income tax. I love Clemson and miss it a good but Nashville is a really cool place.

I lived in Nashville many years ago. I voted (yes, it was on the ballot) to bring the Oilers/Titans to Nashville. Had season tix while I lived there. Also went to many Predators games (they sucked, but that wasn't important).
It is a really great place to live.

My favorite NFL team is the Green Bay Packers (I was born in Wisconsin), which isn't located in a major city, so I'd move to Memphis and be a huge Grizzlies fan.

I like the local Coonhunters. You know, sit around a fire, listen to the Blue Tick's beautiful voices, eat beany weenies and crackers, fart toward the fire to try and make a flame thrower.
I'm also into the local home growers crowd. Most of these guys are in their 50s and 60. Year after year of hybrid pot plants. Not enough to draw any attention just enough to create something special.
Yeah, we got the moonshiners too. They are a bunch of minor leaguers these days but I catch a meet or two every year just to stay active.
City? Not for me.

Seriously? What About Chicago?
Oct 31, 2013, 11:20 AM
|
|
How can there not be one mention of Chicago in 38 replies?
I moved from Greenville to Chicago about one year ago for work, and let me tell you this is one of the most enjoyable cities for professional sports period (college, not so much).
For starters, you have the Cubs and Wrigley Field (and the Sox I suppose if you live on the south side, yuck). While they may be the lovable losers, it's always a good time.
Secondly, you have the NHL Stanley cup defending champions in the Chicago Blackhawks who just so happen to share the United Center with...
Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. The Madhouse on Madison is always packed and of course you have the lovely Luvabulls to look at during intermissions:
And lest we forget about the NFL, Mike Ditka, and the Chicago Bears? Soldier Field is a really awesome venue and the Bears, of late, have been a consistently above average team.
As for college athletics, well there's not much you can really say about Northwestern except, meh (although I did have a really good time at the Northwestern vs Ohio State game this fall).
While college sports within the city is lacking, Notre Dame is only a short 45 minute drive away.
Maybe Chicago isn't the greatest sports city, but it's at least in the discussion, that's all I'm saying...

Definitely Denver. I live about 40 minutes from there now and love it out here.
I'm not a big pro sports guy, but I like the Broncos because I like Peyton Manning. He seems like a really likeable guy. The Broncos have a really good following out here.
I grew up a Braves fan, but haven't followed baseball since the mid to late 90s. There is an awesome local brewery a few blocks the Rockies field called Wynkoop Brewing Company that has pretty good food and awesome beers.
Never watched hockey other than one game in Russia on study abroad and the Greenville Growl a few times, but supposedly the Avalanche are pretty good, so I guess that could be fun.
Denver Nuggets? No idea about them.

"Why would you want to live in a major city?"
It's called the suburbs
Anyways, was born and raised in Boston - since 1991 I have witnessed 3 super bowl wins, an NBA and NHL championship, and 3 world series titles. Definitely worth shoveling snow for 18 years (plus you could make a bunch of $$$ shoveling other people's driveways)
