Best part of the article, "Why is Ron Cherry even doing this game? Isn't Clemson playing somebody today?"

Why does Ron Cherry continually get credit for that "call" ??

NFL ref did it first - long before Ron Cherry

I actually know an ACC official. Great guy...

In a couple of meetings I have thrown a penalty flag on him a couple of times. But I always tell him whenever he becomes the field judge please call a personal foul and say # so and so was giving him the business.

Sad story about Ron Cherry. He was officiating a game out on the west coast. During the game he fell down and hit his head and was replaced during the game. And he never officiated again. I hope he is well in retirement but I think he sucked as an official. My colleague always said Cherry was a really nice guy and great to work with.

News from USuC...
"Richardson was the 20th Gamecock arrested since Spurrier was hired in Nov. 2004"

Fluxus®
"As I watched the game yesterday I couldn't help but feel crushed. We beat Furman by 4 TDs, but to me it looked like we got whipped."

"George Bush, we are reliably informed by the media, has the IQ of a moron, though how he matriculated from Yale and Harvard or flew an F-106 will remain an unexplained mystery. Doubtless his father bribed the airplane to fly itself."

Judging by the article, he was an equal opportunity offender as everyone hated him, not just us Tigers. Hadn’t heard the story of him getting injured. Sad. According the story, seems like a decent guy who took his job seriously and tried to do a professional job. Hope he’s recovered.

This quote:

Swofford:
I would tell young officials, "Go watch and listen to Ron Cherry and do your best to emulate him and you'll be a heck of an official."
