We need VT to beat Duke, UNC to beat BC and NC state beat GT
and i think we are in. Probably other scenarios, but this would be another path besides cuse beating miami

Mentioning Bowden and Dabo in any sentence together is just ignorant.
Better comp would be the late 80's and Danny. Danny always lost a game or 2 he might not should have. People were howling then about the OC's, play calling, etc., albeit not with the amplification the internet gives it today.
What do you think TNet would have looked like, had it existed, with yet another fullback dive called by Chuck Reedy?
There have been and always will be couch coaches who think they know more than the guys who actually coach.

I believe the house is on fire. I believe the game against Carolina, who is suddenly good, because of the portal, is a crossroads for Dabo.
Dabo is living fruitfully off a bygone era. The difference between 2024 and 2019 may as well be 200 years and not 5. Dabo has never reached the 2020’s. He’s running his program like it’s still 2018.
The UL loss finally opened some eyes. But I’m telling you, this Coot game, if they lose it, it’s gonna be crazy. The way they have improved their roster through the portal and the way we have done jack squat, will really put people off. It’s a crossroads game.

The funny part about people who comment like this (and not just bc JK is all-in on a much worse coach in BB and hopefully Clemson BBall sniffs the NCAA Tourney this year)…Dabo gets more leniency because prior to Dabo, look at what Clemson did. 1 Championship in ‘81. Very few conf championships. People are acting as if Dabo is like Ryan Day & took over a well oiled machine. Dabo took over a Clemson program that was a combined 139 Ws and 89 Ls over the prior 20 years. I don’t need to show you his record since ‘09.
Yes we all want to see that 2015-2020 Tiger success but stop acting like Clemson sniffed the type of success before Dabo. Maybe Clemson will indeed need a change one day to adapt to the newest ways of college athletics, but bashing him isn’t it.
If a lot are this insufferable with today’s results, what were you like with the teams/results from 1989-2008?

decision to throw the ball on 3rd and 1....Reminded me of when ECU had a 13 point lead on the coots with
31 seconds left in the first half,on their own 31, with no timeouts,and their coach called a center screen....I think it got tipped and the coots picked it off and ran it back for a TD.....I thought at the time..just take a knee, get the kickoff to start the second half, and have a 13 point lead....Another blown chance by a coach...
Our house IS NOT BURNING DOWN...we just have to get through this incredible run of injuries we have had ever since we won those titles. We went about 5 or 6 years with no to little inuries, and now we seem to have somebody go down during warmups....

but as much as I hate to agree with the rude UGA fan who presumes to come to another teams chat board and insult them, at this point we shouldn't be getting boat raced by Luavull in Death Valley. And we shouldn't be getting blown out by very good (but not great) UGA teams in neutral sites, either.
We have injuries to blame for whatever happens now, but we didn't for those games. It was a pure case of poor preparation; and that goes on the coaches. No excuse - they just failed to get their job done for both of those games.

I remember that NC State game at home where we were down 30-0 at the half. I was there. I’m pretty sure Rodney was the quarterback. He threw 100% passes in the second half. We scored 4 TD’s and trailed 30-28, driving in their territory just across midfield, 4th down and a few, but the pass was incomplete. NCSt ran out the clock.

In the loss to Duke, twice we intercepted a pass and on the return the DB lost the ball with no contact. Duke recovered both! Unreal!!!

We intercepted Duke 5 times and they still won. Reedy wouldn't call a pas play.
The field was like kiddie pool between the hashes and the 30's and Reedy kept us running into it, and trying to run through it.
We were ranked #7. I'll never get over that loss.

Except I doubt it was Ready. I heard after the '87 loss to UofSC, Chuck told Danny to let him call ALL of the plays in the Citrus Bowl and if we didn't boat race Penn State he'd take the blame and resign. Danny over-ruled him once and called a pass!

Louisville is not an up-cake it's a down-cake after
Stanford beat them 38-35 this past wkend. Not being a smartass
Louisville does possess one of the best head coaches in
college football but Clemson beat Stanford 40 to 14.
Clemson should have beaten Louisville handily but as
Dabo put it "that's college football."

Clemson has finished the regular season at 7-1.
Now we have to wait to see if that is good enough to get into the ACC-CG.

The fact that we are making up all of these what-if scenarios meanwhile defending our coach and his decisions is the problem. Say what you want about when and what Dabo is compensated for. The fact is we are losing to programs we shouldn't be losing to and also struggling to beat programs we shouldn't struggle against. His leadership and decision making has gotten us to where we are today. Just like it lead us to 2 Nattys, it's also leading to a decline of the program.
Win the games we should win and we wouldn't need all these what if scenarios.
