Right show me the money!! Kids these days don’t even care about playing long as they get paid. Moore the DE from UTSA that transferred to Texas shows the mind set. This kid had 14 sacks last year as a feature player, now he has 10 tackles on the year as a rotation piece for Texas. Is it just me or would that not hurt your draft stock?!?

We will figure it out or become an even lesser factor on the national scene. We don't have to like it, but failure to pony up the cash is gonna make 9-3/10-2 our ceiling in the ACC. Moving to another conference, we will either pony up or 7-5/8-4 will be the ceiling. I'm sure I'm just a coot? But no it's just what is happening right in front of our eyes!!

Yep. People like money. They also have a higher ranked university academically and are #3 in football rankings. Austin is a nice city. It's not like he picked South Carolina or something confusing.

I don’t know if you work or have a job if you’re on the government dole or whatever… But I guarantee you if somebody came along and offered you the money that they’re going to offer that kid you’d ####### walk away from any commitment you ever made

Maybe that’s how you live your life, Sterling, but the word COMMITTED should mean something. Don’t COMMIT unless you’re COMMITTED. I would not let my reputation and name be tainted because I jumped for the dollars. You can’t replace your reputation and when the money runs out, that’s all you’re left with. The point is this: Just don’t COMMIT if you’re not ALL IN. Pretty simple….

No signature. Just a few weekends and summer camps. A better opportunity comes along? If the kid can meet his academic needs and get paid more he should accept.

I left a job after 20 years for money and a signing bonus. It's common for an employer that has you not to pay to keep you. Fatal flaw!!! CFB is now an industry.

Saw where one player is being offered 10million to play college football. Crazy but if he invested that money correctly he wouldn't even have to play in the NFL. Retire at 22 imagine that

I guess the Tigernet Staff doesn't like the word committed either. They have started referring to some of these young men as "Pledges" instead of "Commits".

Do you know him personally to call him that? I'm disappointed he didn't honor his Clemson commitment but insulting an 18-year kid because you are butt hurt he's not coming to Clemson is cringeworthy.

I get what you're saying, but you can't play at the Adult Table where they need both hands to hold the bigger and fuller bag$$$ when you only need one hand because you only have one bag and it's only partly full. Hard to compete with bigger Alumni bases, richer donors (oil, shoes, etc.). You need a lot of $$$ to outbid those schools and, the reality is if you don't lie to yourself, Clemson just can't compete in the Wild West as it is structed today. Not sure how much Dabo can do about it right now.

Not really surprised or worried. Coach Reed is the best CB coach in college football. With the current depth at this position Clemson will be fine. Coach Reed will find a replacement for him and that replacement will be a solid player, All ACC selection and a NFL.draft pick.

Our coach cannot control NIL big money period! CU doesn’t have the NIL corporates that many TX etc schools have period! This has nothing to do with transfer portal… it is all about big money corporates located in area or corporate grads. We support CU because we love CU. We cannot control this NIL mess…

That's fine, but don't have the expectations for national championships. It's that simple. I personally am ok with it. I look at 9-3 or 10-2 as a remarkable year in this NIL Era. I do not expect Dabo to deliver Natty's anymore. You don't pay the NIL dollars and you won't be a factor in the national championship conversation period. Not all players, but to maintain our desired level of 4/5 stars we are gonna have to pay for that. This isn't rocket science.

People on here want to shake their fist and yell at the sky and curse players, programs, the NIL, the transfer portal. “They’re all dirty and greedy!!” Then they want to still think that Clemson can be a playoff team and still run for championships. Not with one hand tied behind our backs thanks to Dabo and not in today’s college football. We are already years behind programs like Texas, Ohio St., UGA, Bama. Our coach has made it known that he doesn’t like the TP or paying players to come here. And we’re still trying to recover from bad coaching hires. Meanwhile, USUCk is about to pay over a million for some top recruit.
Soo, either adapt and get aboard with the current way of college ball, try to catch up to compete or stand on your self-righteous pedestal, proclaiming how clean and moral your program is, and be happy with being on the level of NC State or App State.
This program cannot have it both ways.

Yeah I agree it’s about the money but Clemson keeps falling further and further behind in recruiting. Now we are barely in the top 15. Maybe they need to learn from our soccer coaches because the women’s soccer program just landed the #2 ranked class and the men’s soccer program has been highly ranked for several years.
