"We missed a couple throws"

Hahahaha!! OK, Dabo. So 21 is a couple now?
Yes, we had THREE drops. Quit throwing the receivers under the bus. They haven't been great by any means, but all he can talk about are the drops.

Of course, but there's little defending the QB play on Saturday - it was dreadful.

16 of 29 would have won the game

An average QB could have gotten us to try for a 55 yard field goal. Potter would have been the hero.

Here's the thing ... we have numerous problems that

contributed to our loss to the coots, as well as to the inconsistent play and often ugly football we saw all year. It's not all DJ's fault, and many of these things have certainly impacted his performance. No disputing any of that. Still, aside from all of that, DJ himself has played poorly for much of the year, and taking all of those other factors into account, he personally stunk it up on Saturday. To suggest otherwise, to me, seems absurd. He was struggling - HE was bad.
That's where the problem lies. Dabo and Streeter pretty much refuse to acknowledge that, and instead, get angry and deflect to all of the other problems. It's as if all aspects of our program are subject to criticism except DJ. And again, if it is as simple as an awful, injured DJ is still better than anybody else we've got, then that prompts a whole other line of questions. How did a program with the tradition, clout, and resources of Clemson, get into this kind of shape at QB, where we basically have no reasonably effective options?

Could very well be, but that's a pretty big problem.

We have the 11th ranked passing offense in the ACC; 84th overall in the country. Is that really because we missed on a few recruits? This is more than just being a little off, or a normal temporary, cyclical drop off. For Clemson, this is a crash and burn, which would seem to indicate something a little more significant and more systemic.

All of that. As long as DJ isn't getting a pass

(no pun intended), I agree completely. If he is the best we've got and we simply can't afford to take him out of the game, then we have other problems that need to be acknowledged and addressed, that's all.

If only Antonio could run 30mph to get to that fast ball DJ threw with no touch or air under it on the wheel route behind the defeneder
If only ngata were 4 feet taller to have caught that air mail when he was running wide open through the crease.

You are lying to yourself I you honestly believe DJ never has more then 3 seconds, he holds the ball way to long and never moves up or out of the pocket. Pass protection wise this has been one of the best lines I can remember, Trevor nor Deshaun has had the time DJ has.

Guess so because he wasn’t pressured on every snap, and at some point when you know a side of the line is getting beat you have to sense that pressure and get out of the pocket, step up in the pocket, take off, or get the ball out ASAP he being a junior should have a grasp on this

DJ is only capable of making one or two reads and with each read he will be increasingly inaccurate.
I don't think they expect to use but one receiver on each play since defenses figured out that if you stop the TEs the passing game is dead.

It takes DJ 5 seconds to get ready to throw. Paint dries faster. He is a very hard QB to watch when he plays for home team. His lead feet are never in right position. HE HAS ZERO ABILITY TO THINK.Only use DJ in hurry up play. He doesn't need to think.

The real question is.. is T3Tiger Dabo or Streeter? Noway you think DJ played well. 3 drops and one bad play doesn’t bail him out.. he had maybe two plays the oline blew. Cade hasn’t had back to back drives often enough to see if he can get into a rhythm. I remember plenty of times Trevor took multiple drives to get going maybe Cades the same.

Did you not see the atrocious blocking by the line every time Cade has been in? The guy runs for his life on every pass down bc as soon as the ball is snapped there are defenders everywhere in the backfield. I would also argue that Cade hasn’t “lit it up” bc he has not been given the opportunity. Most of the time he’s been in have been rushing plays. I get the pick six was a really ugly play against ND, but he was put in an awful situation. TL16 & DW4 both made stupid plays even after they were way more experience than Cade is right now. Look at deshauns stats from 2016. Threw a lot of interceptions, yet still let us to the top that year. I’m not saying Cade is ready, just that he needs to be given more of an opportunity before any assumption is made of him, good or bad. We didn’t get to see if he would respond well to that pick or not bc they took him right out of the game. I think given more opportunity he would look good. Just my opinion, I could be wrong but that’s what I think.

So what you’re saying is, out of every single snap this year, the line has NEVER blocked for dj? Get real. Against usc no they did not block well. But other games they have blocked ok and he still didn’t look grear. That’s not even an argument.

so go figure.
Dang it, I'm complaining again. This is my last for the year.
Honestly, it doesn't matter for next year if we go 10-4 or 12-2 from here on out.

Maybe because he sucks, but at least we could run the ball which is what Clemson did the second half of last year to keep winning games. Instead, we have Dabo crippling the whole team trying to let DJ run the program.

DJ throws wounded ducks. Looks worse than Peyton Manning in his last year. He can barely throw a spiral. I've been saying this for 2 years. Plus his head game doesn't help.

The WRs have no chance of getting in rhythm with DJ. They have to play D to even have a shot at catching the ball 90% of the time Then when a good one comes it’s almost hard for them to believe it.
