Agree! Nobody would be better than Dabo at Clemson, including Saban.
Some of the folks at Texas A&M want Jimbo fired, but he has an $80 Million buyout.
Not happy with two losses, but we have a very good team, that could be great by eliminating mistakes.
Go Tigers, Beat Miami!

His contract requires him to be one of the top paid coaches each year but he’s not required to have one of the top teams each year?

yawn, it’s so called fans like you that CDS may be referring to. Did you really listen to what he said on Monday night? “We’re not immune to losing.” I believe there will be another great run in the near future. He doesn’t spew BS. The man tells it intentionally. Go Tigers.

Would you take playoff appearances every 3 years with 10+ win seasons between appearances or would you rather have 1 Natty an all time offense and then have to wait 11 years before another appearance?

No one thinks losing a game here and there means we’re losers.
Getting curbstomped by ND and UT, losing to Duke and USC, looking unprepared, no kicker but tons of family friends on scholarship, squeaking by WF, players yelling at coaches, OLs pulling and running into each other, developing 5 stars into 2 stars, game management clown show and paying a ### ton of $$$ for it only to be berated by the coach; makes us losers.
Just win the games you are supposed to win and don’t embarrass us against solid teams; that is all that I ask as a fan.
p.s. You liked all those bandwagon fans waiting in Clemson for you to return with trophies; cause you talked for like 2 fkn hrs.

You are right keowee.
I personally like the old Dabo. The one last decade that sounded more like Saban than Willie muscoot. The one that was dissatisfied with losing. The one that had a D coordinator that got ticked off if we gave up leverage and a red zone TD even when we won 51-10. The one that said we have work to do in order to beat the next opponent when dw4 threw a couple interceptions and we only won 34-3. The one that got ticked off because we only scored 13 against a really good auburn team first game and was unhappy with the game being close.
Now we byog and dance when we beat a pathetic weak florist 17-12. Now we rave about a glorious 31-14 win over cuse because we had one 50 yard TD pass. The old Dabo would have been ticked off that we had to punt 6 times to cuse. Now we get excited when we have to punt so we can see how good he is. Obviously I've been a 73 year bandwagon fan.

Trent Pearman - His only other offer was UAB Cole Turner - University of Buffalo was his only other offer
Not on scholarship, but getting more playing time than others on Scholarship: Hamp Greene - no offers 5'9 180 lbs. Clay Swinney - It's not necessary to give details here
Then there's the list of guys that make you wonder: -Jaheim Lawson - 3 star with offers from Syracuse, GT and non power 5s. Brother played at Clemson and went to Daniel -Kobe McCloud - 3 star with 0 power 5 offers. Brother played at Clemson.

Agreed. A lot of the problems are associated with position coaching or lack there of. For another run to happen the multi year issues with the O-line have to be fixed. We have gotten away with having a mediocre offensive line because two of our quarterbacks were phenomenal (2015-2020) and we had incredible wide receivers. Problems with our O-line start with technique which hasn’t improved in 10 years. Low man wins. Our O-line stands straight up when they try to run block. Our pass protection is fairly good with poor communication being the main culprit along with RBs not helping. I really think Dabo needs to go outside the Clemson family and find a phenomenal O-line coach.

I guess that I am not concerned about the money. Dabo has made Clemson more money than he will ever get from it. However, I do not like him making comments about fans that are not satisfied with the way the last few seasons have gone. I should hope that he is not satisfied with them as much as it seems.
I'm not upset over the last 3 years have gone, as long as he continues to change things looking for the right recipe again. Although I think Streeter could have developed into a quality OC, I was happy to see Dabo try to jump start things with Riley. It hasn't gone as well as I hoped but most things take more time than I want to give them.
To condense it down, I wish Dabo would avoid voicing his frustrations with others at times, and empathize with them a little more. There have been times that he made comments about players entering the portal, and a lot of times that he made comments about fans that had opinions contrary to his where I thought that he should have shown more understanding or just said nothing.
I am part of what I think is a large group of fans, that fully support Dabo and unless something unforeseeable happens we always will. However, that does not mean that we are lemmings and agree with every decision that he makes. When we voice a disagreement, we are not being "coots" or bandwagon fans and most don't think that he should just change to our opinion. We voice those opinions because we think he should think about a particular decision a little bit more. If he still comes to the same conclusion, then he is better informed to make it.
To say that he doesn't hear anything that the masses say, I think would ignore the Riley hire. I do not think that change happens without the loudly voiced opinion that the program needed new blood. Maybe I am wrong, but I am a diehard Clemson fan who does wish that Dabo would do some things differently. However, I know which hand fills up first, and will support him regardless.

This is pretty manipulative from Swinney here. No one is calling for him to be fired or a loser if the team is not undefeated. We're simply pointing out that he has underdelivered these past few seasons for a coach with the second highest salary in CFB. This is due to directly to the decisions he's made.
I'm sure many on here will defend this dishonest statement though.

A good idea to call out the fan base. Slippery slope. You’ve got to ignore that.
I’m a big supporter of Dabo, but there are tweaks that need to happen. And he knows this that’s why you have ALREADY seen subtle changes will see more coming down the pipe. DABO has it covered. But….He should do what Brent Venables always suggests….less is more.
Control what you can control. Ignore the rest.

I love you Dabo but I HATE when you make these comments.
Stay humble and just say we gotta keep working till we get back to the mountain top. There’s no need to put down your own fan base.

I do think dabo has it in him to get to a few more big games and possibly win a few more titles. but as others have pointed out he can't keep doing this straw man thing then say "were playing our butts off we have a good foundation" then why is it crumbling for 3 years, the two realities don't align with each other. And "its tough to win" is a nothing statement.

I don't know about can't wait until CDS retires, but I get your point. These a55holes have memories shorter than my ######. And that's miniscule. Before him, our program was generally speaking, a joke. Now these diklovers wanna upend the apple cart for sticking by Big Stinko and hiring a few of our players. I very much disliked #5 and wanted him to transfer long before he did. Just as I had no faith in Kelly Bryant, and wanted him to transfer. They both were not all in and their reactions were evidence of that fact. These talking chucklenuts are NOT all in as evidenced by their words. F the lot of them Be on your way to Mizz or OSU. I'll be leaving because of all the truly scheatty human beings who show up to be bandwagoneers. I have seen other programs after iconic Coaches leave and it's never a pretty sight - I was here when Danny was let go.
I personally just don't want to be around their arrogance and selfishness anymore.

I think CM Shack is just an angrier version of Cobbox. They love the fact that Clemson basketball is mediocre enough they can curry favor within that community. But they have both watched new money pass them by in football, where the staff simply don’t have the time to glad-hand and pose for selfies with everybody that wants them to. Sad, self-hating Clemson fans.

Dabo has surrounded himself with “yes” people and knows he’s set with his contract and paycheck. Everyone in Clemson treats him like he’s Jesus Christ.
Yes, Dabo, we will lower our expectations like you expect us to do. How dare us fans have high expectations for this team, expecting a win vs Duke, expecting to beat a bad Wake team into the ground, or make another run for the ACC Championship. We will continue to pay a small fortune for tickets, parking, hotels, and cheer on and be happy with whatever crap sandwich is served to us on Saturdays. Because you said so Dabo, because gosh darn it, this is a “great group of kids”.

Lamest take I think Ive ever heard from a HC.
Much less one gettin' paid $230,000/week to be only a little less inept of late than Jimbo Fisher, who at a paltry $175,000/week is a STEAL by comparison.
At least Jimbo can be counted on to field a FG kicker who can actually kick FGs. It's not much, but it's somethin.
But whatever.
Maybe if they keep losing as he suggests they should, enough of them bandwagoners paying thousands (or tens of thousands) a year to watch games in person'll wake up and realize they're not worthy of breathing Dabo's air and are better off watching from home for free.

Cant recall last time I heard Brad advocating losing with the goal of ridding himself of a demanding fanbase.
I mean, he doesnt have a very demanding fanbase to begin with, but I doubt he'd be obtuse enough to call them out as bandwagoners if they were demanding.

I hate to say this but, I think bv did alot as an assistant and TE was good enough. Dabo handled recruiting and the media. It was a good formula. Now Dabo does it all and he just can't. Maybe no one can? Maybe the jobs just to big.
Just read the ESPN article on the season DJ is having. About the system he is playing in. Maybe dabo needs to look in the mirror.

streak of 10+ game winning seasons. He was OK in the regular season, at least to the point that we could win most games. But, in the Championship post season, against good teams, he sucked. Does anybody here believe we win last years ACC Championship if Dabo had not yanked him and replaced him with Cade? I certainly don't.

Clemson poised to be great

Clemson will not make the playoffs this year, but all indications are that we could be one of the best teams in the country by the end of this year. We have a challenging schedule ahead, and we could lose several more games, but I think we will win out and get the chance to play in a challenging bowl game. If you have been a Clemson fan for any length of time, you would recognize that this year still could be among our best ever.

of the miserable, ungracious mentality of unfulfilled people who can only feel alive by asserting their imagined superiority.

Doesn’t sound like the same coach that fired his defensive coordinator after winning 11 games and the first ACC title in 20 years. To me that was a coach that wasn’t satisfied with really good, he demanded great. The bottom line is that unless he lowers his salary and the school lowers prices, the criticism is justified.

Because he needed a scapegoat. And the offense looks no different than the past 3 years.
He fired Steele because he wanted the best defense in the country. So he hired Brent Venables and let him coach.
Big difference

Dabo decided the team needed to get better offensively so he went and hired the Broyles' Award winner.
He certainly didn't have to spend ~1.75mil+ to replace a scapegoat. That's patently stupid, but thanks again, coot.

Mid 4 figures to take the family to that dumpster fire in Miami, he needed a scapegoat.

Dabo’s salary is less that 10% of the CU athletic budget. An annual revenue number that has increased 250% during his tenure. That’s nearly half a billion over his tenure. And that’s purely AD revenue. That has nothing to do with the billions in capital investment that have occurred as a direct result of his success or the long term benefits that the increased academic stature of the University, achieved through selectivity and enabled by the massive increase in applications, will yield in perpetuity. Lest you think that 250% increase is inline with general growth in college football, Alabama who is inarguably the most successful program over that same period only has revenue growth of 160%. He isn’t paid to win every game. He is being paid for the overwhelming and unprecedented value he has created for this University.
Total ACC revenue has only grown 100% over the same period. Of which, a sizeable portion is directly attributable to Clemson’s success.

Historically has any team stayed on top every year? Statistically, it’s not going to happen. We are everyone’s superbowl and that doesn’t help matters either

....but with a 10-mil-per-year contract, CDS has about 1 more year to cut his philosophical BS and hire coaches that can actually coach before the noise gets too loud and the fans start calling for new blood...

I am SO tired of Dabo acting like he sits at the right hand of God. Claiming that he created this program “in the name, image and likeness of God.” He is, to use one of Dolt 45’s favorite words, sanctimonious…like every other idiot evangelical out there. I miss Danny Ford - he’s a good man who never claimed to be anything other than a football coach who had the best interests of his players at heart.

I wished he hadn't talked National Championship prior to the season much less than playing for a conference title. Also talked up players that have not performed yet and mentioned 10 t 11 guys that could be starters on the offensive line. If this was the way to get the guys to play to their potential it hasn't worked. Might have been better to poor mouth and tell more truth about how guys need to improve and that means the coaching staff and the non-productive plays such as throwing horizontal and not throwing vertical. May be more hurdles not crossed but we will see. Definitely see more hope of winning some games as feeling confident to win more. Whichever way it falls Go Tigers.
