Bulletin board material always makes me laugh as it makes little difference. Do you think we would not try as hard to win if the other team did not express their confidence to the media? I guess playing ranked undefeated team is not enough to motivate our team...

It might not make much of a difference for the players, but it can definitely influence the home crowd. I vividly remember Bobby Petrino making a statement that Death Valley couldn't be any louder than the Syracuse dome. The crowd made a huge difference.
As to his comments, if I was Babers, I would appreciate his confidence, but I wouldn't want him to make a statement like he did. I would have preferred, "They have a great team. We're confident, but we know it's going to be a battle." Something like that.

I think we need to be ready for a 4 quarter battle. They will make plays. We have to be ready. The defensive performance from last week cannot be duplicated and expect a win. I don’t see any problems with what he said. I want to see our Tigers prove him wrong and beat the spread. We are more than capable of that. Now we have to make it happen.
Interesting how they mention his improvement from last year. DJ has better numbers and I think more improvement than him last year. Couldn’t be more proud of his turn around.
I think we should win by 14 but we need to make it happen. If for nothing else we need the style points after blowing the 20 point lead last week.

and I would expect nothing less from an opposing team's quarterback. If you don't believe you can win, you probably won't. Believing it gets you part of the way there. But we are not the team from last year and we really aren't even the team from last week. I think they'll stick around pretty close through the first half then we'll pull away in the 2nd half like we've been doing, maybe even last part of the 2nd quarter. I wouldn't be surprised if they covered the spread again, but likewise, we have the talent that I wouldn't be surprised if we win by 20+.

Funny, when I searched "Syracuse schedule," the first two things it showed me were "morning yoga" and "meditation." Several results later it actually showed the football schedule. It's not just Clemson that has a disrespect for Syracuse football.
And before you start talking about Florida State, in taking a peek at that schedule, whoo boy, you might not get another win until Boston College. Is your backup QB any good? because we might break this one in half.

The reason you have played well is in large part to Clemson's focus or lack there of when they play you - this will not lend itself to that happening - oh well - thanks I guess.

Reality Check:
Since Syracuse joined the ACC in 2013, there have been 3 close games in the series.
-2021 DJ and the entire team struggled with almost everyone, Clemson won by 3
-2018 I believe the team took them lightly and were not focused, Clemson won by 4
-2017 Kelly Bryant was injured, Syracuse won by 3
If you take out those 3 games, we have beaten them by an average of +28 points!

The Tigers need this kind of talk to motivate themselves into playing hard against an undefeated Syracuse team then we are in trouble! Clemson has a LOT to play for in this game. For that matter, so does Syracuse. Putting on those orange britches should be all the Tigers need to be ready to go all out. I’ll be in my regular seat on the goal line!!!
