As hot as NCST’s bats were tonight they can’t keep up at that pace, can they? How many times do we see a team struggle after an explosive output like that? At least that’s the frame of mind I am going to choice to take. However, the offense has to come alive to take some pressure off the pitching staff.

It seems the offense has been sleeping for a while now. Just can't seem to get the bats going consistently enough. Don't think the Tigers are CWS material.

Can I ask how the number two team in the nation is not college World Series material?

Continue playing like this, they won't be #2, let alone in the top 10. And if they continue playing like this, they don't win a regional, let alone a super. So they don't get into CWS.
That's how.
OTOH, if the #2 ranking accurately reflects the actual play of the team and last night was a fluke, then no worries.
Which will it be? I guess we'll keep rooting for them and see.

You "guess" you will keep rooting for them? No guessing on my part ..... and guessing that is not what you really meant!

Honestly I think we are overrated with our offense.

One are maybe two guys hitting over 300 right now and really struggling to score runs with men on base. Top 25 for sure but #2 seems a bit lofty.

We've seen CWS teams in the past and, to me, this just doesn't look like one.
Not criticizing them for a loss, just my impressions from watching them play this season.
Hope I'm wrong.

Team batting avg is beliw .300..I believe we only have 1 hitter above that mark? This team needs to start hitting. Yes they are rated number 2, but I don't like their odds against other say top 12 teams. Especially in a #1vs#1 pitcher s elation and so on. The Georgia win was great, but it's was a midweek hodge podge of pitching matches. Last night NC State pitching made the Tigers look bad.

What does it mean if our Hodge Podge pitching shut UGa out?

Did they sit their best batters?
Good pitching beats good hitting every day.

Keep playing like that and we’re gonna get run out of Raleigh and Tallahassee in a heartbeat… Bad news that was by far our best pitching we threw, gotta do better or we’re in trouble.

Am I over-reacting but I am highly concerned about how often teams seem to score against us with two outs...comment?

I doubt there's any statistical relevance to that at all

I don't know what the breakdown for the Tigers is this season, but I saw the numbers for an entire MLB season once and the run breakdown was basically:
0 outs - 25% 1 out - 37.5% 2 outs - 37.5%
Makes sense since having 1 or 2 outs generally means you've had more plate appearances that inning and more time to get runners on base.

Oof! I'm glad I didn't get to see this game. Let's hope they can shake it off and come back strong.

We have 8 total losses and have been run-ruled 4 times

This team wins close games, and a loss by 10+ is still only 1 loss.
The only worrying thing from last night was that they hit Knaak consistently, no one had done that yet.
