i got mine Monday. It was so very good of them to do that. I do wonder about the amount they said it generated since it said they received 12 thousand and that amount eclipsed the 50K that was the original goal Regardless, I was pleased to participate and proud to be part of it.

Also was quite surprised to see their AD was a Clemson grad.
Outstanding display of human compassion & kindness from La Tech to Clemson and vice-versa. Will always cherish the chance to participate in this great gesture of sportsmanship between the two Universities for a great cause that had such a profound impact on the lives of many.

We use the word HATE without thinking of what we are saying. It’s is comforting to know these young men from La Tech show the true meaning of sportsmanship in their daily lives. There is a whole lot of good in the world and we found a big stack of it in Ruston Louisiana. I wish them nothing but success. They have already made a big step toward greatness ...imo

Another otherwise great story hindered by a complete lack of understanding of journalism. A story clearly written by people that aren’t real journalists.
The Clemson grad quoted in the story. I saw someone say he was the athletic Director. I kind of sort of thought that’s who he was, but the story should tell me who he is. The school president, the athletic Director, a dean or other administrator? The story should immediately tell me who that guy is. I shouldn’t have to go look it up or make assumptions or hope that someone else knows it.
Also, was that $12,000 supposed to be $120,000? Because $50,000 was the goal but they wrote $12,000 that $12,000 exceeded the campaign goal. Typo? Numerical error?
I suggest that TNET have every story proofread by someone other than the person who wrote it. An editor will catch a lot of these mistakes and errors.
Please TNET I implore you as a Clemson graduate, designate two people as editors.

I truly appreciated receiving this letter not because I made some big contribution, but that I got to be part of something fundamentally good that celebrated lives. Clemson and it’s program also built another relationship based on appreciation and respect.

Unfortunately the great human interest stories such as this one seldom find their way to the major press. We hear about all the bad things, in sports and otherwise, but this likely will go unnoticed by the majority. Sad, but it’s the world we live in. As you know, Dabo made a point very early after the game that this was being done and he did his part in the post game address to praise our opponent.
There is a lot of classy folks out there, in sports and other ways, and few do great things for personal exposure. La Tech is certainly one.

I hope the 2 universities will form some sort of long-lasting relationship from this. I know playing them with any kind of regularity in football is unrealistic, but seeing them in basketball, baseball, softball and other sports would be nice.
