Nah, well probably, because who isn’t looking for a promotion.. but this guy was one of the few after Georgia saying hold up Clemson isn’t that bad. Then we poop the bed last week and make this guy along with countless others look like an idiot.. what do you think those analysts are going to say this week? Tigers should be ranked higher like I've seen being said on here? Lol no!! They ain’t gonna respect us or give us credibility, made him look like he don’t know what he’s talking about.

I agree with you and him. We have no business in the top 25. We’ve beaten zero ranked teams. We’ve beaten what, one with a winning record? We are above average. Average is about 65-70. I’d place us around 30. Every phase is a liability right now. The last four years remind me of Tommy Bowden tbh.

Yeah for sure 30-40 with the eye test, 20-30 on paper and when we throw the ball downfield! IDK if we've reached the Tammy Bowden pinnacle yet (last week yes) but like I've said on here, keep playing with a lack of motivation like last Saturday and lose to the coots and we are tailgating the Bowden years in the line to go 9-3 or 8-4 every year. I'm starting to think with the 12 team playoff and our lack to bring in major star transfers at key needs, we are going to be like the older mid major teams in basketball that aren't the greatest in the sport but we've been playing as a team for 2-3 years improving together and growing towards a run. And that could change when everyone is allowed to pay players the same amount.

Who has Penn State beaten? Take away the conferences and make tge NCAA Football be a 64 team conference. Each year you play different schedule. Lottery pick your schedule.

Penn st. looked way more competent against a top 5 team than we did. That's just a dumb argument, and people need to stop comparing us to other teams. Right now the only thing we have done this year is beat bad teams bad and get blown out to the two good teams we have played.

Our rushing defense is giving up 4.6 yds per carry. Second worst in the ACC (though tied with FSU/Cuse).
We have no business being in the top 25 with a stat like that.

No, you don't have to go back that far. I believe it was 2007. Va Tech came to Clemson. Brought the lunch pail. Special teams was their specialty and it was a physical horsewhipping. On the most memorable play of the game, we punted. As the Tech return man started downfield Tigers were dropping like dominos. He hit the 10 yard line, stopped, and turned around. They had cockroached virtually every single Clemson defender. He turned back around and walked into the end zone. I think that was 30-0 at the half give or take. Only game since 1966 that I actually departed at halftime. Va Tech gave up some garbage points in the second half to make it 40-21. It can get worse and it will. Worse next year and a steady decline down until he departs in 2031. Stadium will be half empty by the time this plays out. Wish there were some easy answers but watching Clay Swinney try to make a play on the blocked field goal scoop just reminds me that no changes are coming. All that's left is for Will and Drew to become assistants and the cycle will be complete. If you don't believe the slide is real wait for the season finale at the Valley. It's been a lot worse, but our days of competing for anything meaningful past the State Championship are long gone.

The boys got their gonads shoved down their throats and spanked like little boys!! last week. The Hokies taste the blood and are looking to feed on their weaknesses!! which has been exposed more than once this year!!!
I wouldn't count the Hokies out of this one.. Just saying, and Tyler cant fix the problems this year for Dabo!!

Agreed. Even duke last year didn't make me feel this way. That game was fluky with all our turnovers right on the goal line, and it was away. This decent, not great, Louisville team came in to death valley AT NIGHT and completely man handled us. The last time we lost a home night game was 2013 to Jameis Winston and FSU. So many things need to change before we ever think about playoffs again.

The lack of preparedness and general chaos and confusion on the sidelines from our coaches was the most concerning. After a bye week - this was embarrassing. Our players weren’t ready and our coaches had no clue. CFP - we still couldn’t kick a FG?

Until we begin proving ourselves on the field against quality teams, we deserve all the outside criticism we get. I repeat for the fourth time: We are not a well coached team in any phase of the game.
We have the talent, though our depth is not strong enough to compete for a national title yet, but we lack coaching experience, strategy, and frankly the coaching good sense at the present time. Whether Dabo does anything about it or even recognizes it, time will tell.

Do we have the talent? Big time players make big time plays in big games. The two biggest games we’ve had we laid duds with no one sticking out making plays. Can OU get rid of BV and we just get Jeff Scott and him back running the show? Clearly they were the brains behind our recent run.

Riley (OC) and Goodwin (DC) appointees were HUGE Mistakes. Dabo is at fault because he hires them. It is time to clean house. This move can preserve the Power/glory status we earned between 2015-2020.

I can't say Riley was a huge mistake. Nobody, probably including you, thought Riley was a bad hire. I don't reall think it can be said he is a bad hire right now either. It is really hard to put a finger on any exact thing that is the problem right now. I mean it easy as a fan to just pull certain coaches out of out bottom and say they are the problem, but we really don't know. Discretion is the better part of valor. I hope they figure out some things coaching-wise if that is truly the problem, but I truly have no idea.

If we come out flat the rest of the season like last game, if we don't beat the coots, then I'd say its time to start talking about it. I'm not about to say get rid of Dabo though because who are we going to bring in? Does he need a wake up call, clearly! I'm starting to think that run is going to be like the run of the early 80's when I was growing up and going to games in the 90's and 00's.. a place we want to be but struggle to get to.

I don't think Riley was a bad hire at all. He was considered the best offensive coordinator in football for a reason. The offense is also better this year. He's just limited in personnel. Our recruiting has dropped dramatically. He has an untalented offensive line (who are playing better this year since Luke has improved fundamentals, but they have a ceiling), a QB who is good/not great and makes bad decisions, and a power-style running back who needs a solid offensive line. I think the receivers are dramatically improved this year, but Dabo and Streeter had destroyed our receiving corps by only recruiting 50/50 6'4" guys instead of anyone who could stretch the field.
Goodwin is a good analyst. He understands the math behind football plays. But pork chop isn't a good defensive coordinator who can inspire his players to play hard and knows when to do things that might not mathematically make sense, but can get into an opponent's head. I would get rid of him.
But the real problem lies with Dabo.

95% of our problems are due to poor coaching and coaches. We have coaches who have absolutely no business coaching at Clemson. The sad thing is that we could have the best coaching staff in the country due to how well we can pay them and brand recognition.

First I’m not a huge fan of this guy or anything but I’ll state the obvious here. When you been saying what he’s been saying about Clemson (good things) then they perform like they did against Louisville as an “analyst” I mean wouldn’t you change your mind too? Heck I’m biased and last week changed my mind! Last week was the tipping point, blinders all the way off. We are better than most, but no where near the best..pop tart bowl champion tier good.

The discussion is whether it was 2023's win over Notre Dame or 2020's win over Notre Dame. The 2020 one definitely counts... I'd probably say that the 2023 one does, but at best we've had one in the last 4 years.

I love how the sports media folks have moved to the "sensationalized, hot takes for clicks" model Finbaum and others have used to generate money/clicks/views. He maybe right, he could be completely wrong, stating this stuff as fact, eh maybe.....IDK. I will that I don't listen to any of them because in my eyes, none of these folks have any credibility really. They just look for whatever they can shill next to get the clicks necessary to drive a career/money/attention/clicks. They are all talking heads with little to no substance for the most part.
I will say, Dabo's teams tend to respond better than most when they feel their backs are against a wall. I expect this game with VT to be close. If Clemson's offense shows up though, we have a better than average chance. If Clemson's offense does not show up, we may have issues as I do not see our Defensive issues getting any better, unless we have a couple of DE's and a LB or two know one knows about.....or Venables comes back to coach them....

I can't stand this guy and not because of this comment. I have been turning the sound off when he's done a game for quite a while. He's just a guy that goes on an on and never gets his facts correct. He even said it takes years to be able to take a snap right behind the center when you've been deep forever. I could teach it in a few minutes to a child. What a dope.
