Since there's no sports and the topic of the century is a beer virus, let's smile a little with pictures of our best friends!

Here's Gus. He's a total nutball.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We were going to name him Tiger but he was a racer and

Mar 13, 2020, 10:34 AM

Flash was his racing name . . . . so - it stayed.

as an aside and a PSA - Greyhounds are great dogs. It is a very common misconception that they need a bunch of space.

We have a big yard & he loved it - for the literal 30 seconds to 2 minutes he tore around the "track" he created.

After that - the couch inside was his best friend for the next 23 hours.

He would run once a day from age 2 (when we got him) to about age 6 and then it slowly tapered down to once every other day to once every few days, etc, etc.

At 11, I probably haven't seen him tear it up in the last 30 to 45 days.

Loving, try to be lap dogs, mostly quiet, loyal, pose quite the image as a security device (but give him a treat and he is putty) . . . . highly recommend.

Same with mine, and I think that it's bc we love them as family, and treat them as family. There is no way my baby boy thinks he is any different than us, he probably thinks we're weird by walking on just two legs all the time;)

mini schnauzers are like most terriers.you actually have to out-think them, and it's not always easy.my parents had 2(fritz and max) when I was younger.my wife's father bred Airedales when she was growing up,and we've had a sucession of them over the years, not to mention a few welsh terriers as well.both are wonderful breeds.first Airedale, otis, was from n.augusta.got him when I was stationed at ft. Jackson.still one of my favorite dogs of all time.

Speaking of dogs, I have a Albino Pekingese that was my grandmothers until she went into assisted living. Beautiful dog but the wife works third shift and my other dog ( Boston Terrier) doesn’t get along with her. Anyone interested in adopting her let me know.

They can be taught to get along, and there is something there that you don't see as the reason, seek a professional that makes their living understanding and knowing dog behavior!!! After all, your grandmother trusted that you would give her loving pet a good home!!!

That would be a great thing Mayfav, but nobody will ever see us the same as the dogs that love us. I remember back when scientist would say that dogs didn't feel the same emotional feeling as we do with our pets. And I use to say that I didn't a word of that BS science bc I knew how my dogs were towards me over my then lifetime.

Now they say that dogs do share emotional feelings with their people parents, and family. Myself and most all other pet owners, we knew back then that the scientist were full of chit when they were saying that our dogs didn't have emotional feelings for us!!! For me personally, I knew better!!!

Obie.jpg(92.5 K)

After three years of the passing of my German Shepherd and Husky, my wife and I are getting a new Australian Shepherd puppy next month, Obie. Without sports to watch on TV, this guy and I will be doing a lot more training, playing, and traveling together than usual.
