I think 2 things sent him back to ole miss.
1 they were losing some players and raised their offer to keep him.
2. He got a look at the talent ahead of him and didn’t want to fight for a job.
Not really Clemson material. Better off at om.

Either get onboard with offering upfront NIL money or continue to lose recruits to schools who have no qualms offering money upfront. You may find it distasteful & bothersome but if you want to compete with the big boys you better start adapting.

Disagree. It's called due diligence. If Dabo was 99% sure we weren't getting this kid and it's just a money grab then it would still be his due diligence to recruit this kid 100%. Dabo isn't a fool. Dabo knows exactly what's going on and has no choice but to tap dance at times for these recruits. Exactly why Saban retired, he wasn't willing to tapdance his pride away in the Wild West of NIL recruiting. Go Tigers!!!

Current landscape & "nothing wrong with it" aren't mutually exclusive. Just bc it's happening doesn't make it right. I'm good with players getting paid but the way it's happening it's completely disgusting. If recruiting was on the up & up there would be a ton more transparency. Why are all the player demands hush hush? Tampering is prevalent and recruiting is flooded with NIL promises. Neither of those things are legal. U aren't allowed to promise money in order to land a recruiting but that's happening with every 5star and top portal players. Recruiting pitches shouldn't be mentioning money at all. Certain schools have a ridiculously unfair advantage in the "Current landscape" with poor schools having no chance to land top players. No Team is allowed to "buy" players outright. Go Tigers!!!

In this case Alfred used Clemson as a pawn. Not sure Dabo has all that control about "buying" a player who works the system. It really didn't matter how little or how much Dabo offers to these mercenaries. All it does it gives the opposition their minimum $$$ they need to amount.

IDK It's funny how everyone keeps pointing to aTm when there are plenty of programs that are using the portal and NIL to improve themselves like FSU who beat us and won the ACC and Miami that we could not stop and wore us out in the 4th qtr last year.

A 2.3+- billion dollars just was given to players by the NCAA and the federal court. Each p4 conf. School is told to pony up at least 20 million per year to pay athletes, the majority to FB players. Looks to me like Dabo is going to be paying players. It's just a matter of which ones. So folks need to get over Clemson wearing the FB puritan halo. We paying players. End of discussion.

I'm being told by a source in football operations 300k was raised by Ole Miss NIL and offered to Alfred this past weekend. If that's true then the entire de-commitment was a sham money grab from Alfred to begin with. He was probably always going to Ole Miss and just used Clemson to leverage NIL money. We don't need him and he plays soft anyway. Go Tigers!!!

. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS, you may not like it but this is the new college football landscape. Adapt or die! We aren't doing a very good job at adapting. You don't have to like it but this is the new reality and we need to wake TF up as a program. The ole free education and that's what matters is dead and gone. College football is now the AAA of the NFL. Like it or not, it is what it is. The ole " feels like family here" isn't going to cut it anymore. Adapt or Die.

This coach just signed 2 studs? Have you seen either play in an actual game? Of course not. But don't let our HISTORICAL run of firing former player-coaches to get in the way of that. The all-American had 531 total yards; the best receiver we had. We haven't had a 1000-yard receiver since post-Amari Rodgers and Tee Higgins....oddly enough, that's also when Grisham took over (Feb of 2000) and when our core of WR's went to s h I t.
You seem to be taking it rather personal. You should go have a drink and chill tf out.

We signed 1x 5-star and 1x 4-star.
WR Coach been at the helm since 2000. Since 2000, we've had ZERO WR's recruited under Grisham to hit 1000 yards.
Before Grisham:
Amari Rodgers
Tee Higgins
Justyn Ross
Mike Williams
Etc
Even in our off-year with Kelly Bryant at QB, Renfrom and Dion Cain broke for more yards than anything we have today.
Coaching? Development? Recruiting? I'm sure you have an opinion worthy of all to hear, dumb A$$.
