Good morning, Great article! My primary concern is not the talent of our returning or incoming players but rather their ability to play with technique and discipline in what ever defensive scheme that they play in. Last season there were so many times that we were not gap sound, out of pass rush lanes, and losing outside contain. Our coaches and players must buy into these things or it will not make a difference who is going to be the next DC.

Spot on with your assessment. OP below mentioned strength and conditioning as an issue, and that was evident on both lines. May have been part of the problem, iron not sharpening iron. Luke will fix that.
I did have to laugh at the P-Wwo and Parker implications that they were like the power rangers and decided to "run it back" 😂 Just say it like it is, they couldn't declare for the draft so they were content with the pay raise received.

It's tough that they always get these studs but they want to head to the NFL asap. I'm hoping that in the new era of NIL, there is enough money to keep some of these guys home. The grass (money) isn't always greener in the pros for some of these guys.

Need two answers and I will be able to tell anyone what kind of season we are in store for.
Question 1: Will Clemson hire a madman as their new Defensive Coordinator?
Question 2: Will Clemson be able to hire a coach that can actually develop the linebacker corps in the offseason.
If Clemson answers, "yes" to both of those questions then Coach Dabo Swinney will be hoisting that oculus shaped trophy at the end of the 2025 season.

Need to add a 3rd question 3. Will Dabo hire a new Strength coach? We were pushed around way too much last year.

If the reserve DLinemen were so good, why didn’t any of them play any significant minutes this season? And if they did, what did they contribute?
I most certainly has the confuse this morning.

For the same reason that Deshaun Watson sat the bench behind Cole Stoudt for nearly have a season. Of course, he also got injured. Cole Stoudt redeemed himself though by winning against Oklahoma in stellar fashion.

Similar Thought. ALSO, if this is how we define an embarrassment of riches, we are far from alone in college football. But this definition, SC is just as embarrassed. Maybe just calm down and give the facts? Or let us know if we’re speaking in hyperbole.

Great article, I do believe this is a very talented group that should do great this upcoming year with the incoming DE transfer and hopefully better coaching of fundamentals with new DC.

Strength and conditioning? Technique? Scheme?

Probably a mixture of all aspects. I would say that it was mostly strength and conditioning though. I hear that Batson may be retiring or moving on to greener pastures. We shall see.

Are Patterson and Storey going to ever contribute? Haven't hear much about either in quite a while.

I suspect that these two are being not mentioned in TNet articles that discuss DL personnel options because the authors of those anrticles are being polite. Better to write about those who are more likely to make a major contribution.
