It’s almost as if Dabo reads tigernet. He’s done everything that was wanted. Filled some holes on defense, brought in a tall receiver, and now a seasoned defensive coordinator. Only thing left is get the running back rotation sorted out, in this team could be dangerous next season

I'm with you on the RB. Might be nice to know we've got someone to follow cade too. I guess we can see that when we get up by a bunch of points. But then the backups just hand it off. We don't see the arm. At most it's a screen play.
Anyway, happy with the changes. Go Dabo.
Go Tigers

He has made positive changes but it's unfortunate he waited 2-3 years after everyone else adapted to react. Had he been proactive instead of reactive, we might be playing for another natty this weekend.

Dabo has never been a trend setter. He has always been cautious, studious and methodical in his decisions and actions. You are just a troll.

If Dabo were relying on Tnet we would not have a DC hired yet…his efforts to hire Nick Saban and/or rehire Brent Venables would have been rebuffed and we would be scrambling!

“Dabo knows what he’s doing!”
Well, he didn’t. But to his credit, he seems to have recognized his mistakes and is taking steps to right those wrongs.
I am feeling a lot more positive about the future of our program, more than I have in a few years.

and...this is why I don't come to tigernet often! A backhanded compliment is criticism and I bet those in your household get what I'm saying.
Really easy to second guess isn't it? Really easy to drive in the passenger's seat isn't it?
I realize you are somewhat of a legend on this forum but maybe you should start your own program, run it how you want and then let others second guess you every single minute of every day. Its the man in the arena situation, they don't build statues to critics, they build them for taking a middle of the pack team and going 15 of 16 years with 9 or more wins, winning nattys, competing for Nattys, winning conference championships...Something that hadn't happened here in 30 years!
For anyone that has ever been in leadership, you can't let popular opinion run your decision making, you can't let the current shiny thing determine your path. He's the leader, he's making decisions on a $100M+ program at the pace that a long term thinker and leader makes them.
How about this scenario -- he listens to all you guys that know everything about the talent we do or don't have and goes all in on the portal, 18 of 22 starters...and pulls a Florida State? or a Colorado? Then what are you and all your backseat drivers doing then? "FIRE DABO!!! He shouldn't have ever used the portal". This doesn't mean there won't be decisions along the way that don't work out but it means that when its obvious that a decision needs to be corrected, he corrects it - not to please you or any of the other cranky fans, he corrects it because the guy he thought would work out and grow into a leader didn't pan out so he has to do the hard thing to replace that guy - a guy he's been close friends with for quite a while. He's proven he is willing to do that more than one time.
Our recent down years were 9 or more wins with a couple of ACC championships? Do you literally expect 13 to 15 wins per year every year especially when we are competing with some deep deep pockets out there? Some of this is cyclical anyway (alabama going through it now). The fun is in the Saturdays win or lose...and Dabo has proven he's going to run the program to succeed.
I personally wouldn't want to be in any leadership capacity with you at my side. ALL IN is ALL IN as a unit, together. Leaders lead they don't take opinion polls and don't put decisions up for community votes and I would bet that Dabo doesn't read Tigernet to hear how his detractors would run this better from their couches.

JK, I am not sure if you are just a hater, stupid, or a Coot. But to say Dabo has been anything but very good is insane. We have had one so called bad season in 15 years, and we won 9 games that year. We got spoiled in the 2015 to 2020 years. But no other team has been to as many playoffs other than Alabama. Maybe this will cure your DDS.

Would you say the "pumpers" or Dabo himself caused the majority of mental distress you continue to show on a weekly basis?
While its interesting to watch someone trying as hard as you do to drag a HOF coach, its more interesting to me to see someone so broken by a collection of anonymous message board posters.

Just because you couldn’t see what Dabo was doing during that time doesn’t mean he didn’t know what he was doing. It just means you didn’t know and you spun it into something it wasn’t. As usual.

I’m 74 and have been working since 1974. I’ve had many Bosses and all of them, but 2 kind of knew what they were doing.
One thing I’ve learned is that to be a Leader, you have to have an Ego. All good leaders have got to think ther ways are the right ones.
However, a GREAT LEADER, and I think Dabo is one, recognizes their mistakes and are open to ideas from others. Sometimes, it takes a while, but I have confidence in Dabo and he knows the way to the top and we’ll get there again!!!!
GO TIGERS!!!!

NIL was a no brainer and that will continue. What we don't know is whether Dabo would have been able to use the Portal if he had been able to sign a couple more high school kids. Recruiting is all about numbers and this year, the numbers led to the Portal. Will that road be open next year and beyond is up for grabs and will depend on who transfers, who graduates and who makes himself draft available. Numbers.

I’m behind Dabo as long as he uses the portal sparingly and only when there is clearly no one on the roster who can be developed. If Clemson stops being a program where I can count on some player continuity from year to year, or starts feeling like the team is comprised of a bunch of mercenary players for hire who have no attachment or allegiance to the university other than the orange uniform with a tiger paw on it, I’ll be checking out and finding somewhere else to spend my money in the fall.

Absolutely agree with this and previous post. I like our program as a developmental one, life first then great football…yes numbers tell us where we need, but as Dabo said long ago, if you aren’t hiring mercenaries (which most of us don’t want) it’s a 2 party negotiation, the players have to want/buy in to the Clemson program and everybody doesn’t want our philosophy of football development…I’m with Dabo!!
Go Tigers!!!

I think we have all wanted Coach Swinney to rush to change, but I think the better part of leadership is to not lose your mind while everyone else is losing theirs. I get that it is important to be dynamic, but the otherside of that coin is being a kneejerk reactionary. To me the plan is coming together. Retaining players like no other team is a great mark of leadership. Part of player retension is for players to know what the leadership for the team is going to be during their tenior. Look at what happened to Marshall this year. Several other teams have also had mass exodus' because of coaching changes. We lose our DC and actually pick up defensive talent...that says alot.

Anybody ever consider this was Dabos plan all along. Let some of the guys he was loyal to move on or graduate then fill in the gaps with portal. Wes was a hit or miss and he realized that and moved on. Dabo has said all along to be patient. Think he wanted to get his ducks in a row as to portal before jumping in with both feet. Seems to me like they are running things now similar to the Pros cept for the 1 year contracts. Got to get to multiple years somehow

Exactly...jumping in with both feet is irresponsible at best. And irrational at worst. How many of you bought a microwave oven when they 1st hit the market? How many of you bought a Beta VCR in year 1? Funny, both were severely overpriced ($1000) and were obsolete very quickly. I liken the portal pottie to these fine examples. Let the newness wear off, let the deep pocket or desperate programs blow their collective wad, and then step in and explore the options. I say, WELL DONE SIR DABO!!!

The article is embarrassing due to it presenting that Dabo finally decided to hire outside coordinators and use the portal. That is a lie which festered in the hearts of those who have been using hindsight to justify their continuous whining about the few losses over the last few seasons.

Yeah it sounds like D Hood bought into the negative narrative there as well, taking his eyes off of what Dabo was staying true to behind the scenes, and what he continues to adhere to with guiding this program. Perfect seasons, which are so rare that even Nick Saban only had two in his GOAT career, can really spoil perspectives.

Hood is simply catering to the confusion for clicks. Tnet has done that for several years. If a concept draws enough attention on other websites Tnet puts their nickle in the pot.
