A season opening game represents the best opportunity for us to beat UGA.
Playing against a no doubt Nat’l Championship contender in the opener also helps us throughout the first part of the season.
Our team knows that we’ll be the underdog. Accordingly, they’ll practice with more attentiveness and intensity than had our season opening opponent been a team that we simply assumed we’d be better than. A team like, I don’t know, like Duke.
There’s a pretty good chance that UGA will have spent preseason practice with a little less focus and a little less intensity than our team. This might equate to a few points on the scoreboard.

So Dabo says in one breath that pre season ranking doesn’t matter, but then goes on to say the No.1 ranked team hasn’t lost since the 90’s?
Either they mean something or they don’t?
Am I hearing some doubt from Coach?
I hope he hasn’t already conceded that No.1 GA will win this game due to history?
Either way go Tigers! 🐅

Ok....good thing is head coach understands the importance and intensity of the rival with UGA. But you lose a Top 50 recruit to Duke??? Something is not lining up. The good thing about this season is that August 31st will tell you where the Clemson football program stands and by Dec 7th a lot of questions will be answered.

So what we’re saying is that the field is more lopsided than it was in 81 & we don’t have a prayer?
