He certainly could, Wesco and Cade plus others from Texas made the move to Clemson.
If he wanted to stay close to home, he is in the middle of the Texas schools with NIL money.
If he was just looking for NIL money, Clemson would not be at the top of his list.
He’s been to Clemson for camp. Looks like a good kid, I hope he becomes a Tiger.

Gheesh.
Very very few schools really get the majority of top end recruits that they really want.
Former OT target David Sanders was wanted by everyone. But, Bama didn’t get him. Neither did UGA, OH State, MI, Penn State, or Texas. He chose Ole Miss.
UGA, Bama, OH State, MI, Penn State, and TX might as well join Clemson and shut down our recruiting operation. After all, none of got what we wanted.

yep as far as recruiting goes that seems to be the kiss of death. Kind of like a pro coach getting their vote of confidence from a GM and then they are soon fired

David Sanders was a 5 star and this guy is a 3. Everyone was offering Sanders tons of deals and maybe cash, this guy doesn’t have the same type of options.
The funny thing to me about Sanders is he is listed as 250 pounds which is a good amount of weight away from being D1 ready. Yet, guys like this kid are 320 pounds and size wise, at least, could play right away.

I would like to know why he wasn't the least shocked that he was offered by Clemson with offers from our staff being so hard to get. I hope that his 3 star value hasn't gone to his head bc with Luke directing who's offered and who isn't he really should be shocked with as little OL experience that he has, just saying...

Not really. Historically, Midlothian hasn’t had much and especially compared to nearby DeSoto and Duncanville. Wesco is from there which is why this recruit is interested, but they haven’t been blessed with top talent over the years.
I always say if Texas doesn’t get them I’d like to see them at Clemson and I hope you land another Midlothian kid. We wanted Wesco and he blew us off for you.
