Dems my Tigers! Those guys love each other. Cade saying hes not going to quit MATTERS bc quitting and going to greener pastures is the norm. If not norm, still very much NOT the exception. ETN chose UF. They struggle, he goes to UGa. Best get better, the reat get little.
Go Dabo, I love you and support you. Do the next right thing.
Go Tigers!

Unless you have the money and no scruples. And go after other teams starters. But hey. Portals all good.

FS is a prime example of the portal gone bad, eligible players bailed out and went to the NFL or other programs and now FS is left with an 0-3 this year...LOL Norvell will be next in the portal..

I like Tom L. Glad he felt comfortable discussing tampering on air.
I can envision a day when Dabo has a presser after winning another national title. It would be funny to hear him use the word transfer ten times, such as "What a blessing to have this trophy 'transfer' to Clemson."
I hope that happens.

Misleading headline. To "push back" means to disagree. I saw no disagreement there. Did the author go to an SEC school? Dabo's going to do what works for him. At the end of the day, these kids need to 1) keep up their GPAs, and 2) graduate from college. Whether or not outsiders believe that's what the scholarships are for, that's what most of the student-athletes believe they are for. They don't show the kids going to classes & taking their exams on TV, but they do more of that than playing their sports. At least, they're supposed to. I think Dabo's ahead of the curve, not behind it. When the stink hits the fan, he's going to be standing alone with a great team that isn't caught up in the b.s. He's thinking long-term.

It says he pushes back on the Clemson portal narrative. You know, the narrative that many people are spewing saying that Dabo isn’t using all the tools available to him, that he can’t win without the portal, that the sport has passed him by, etc, etc. He is disagreeing with that narrative, just like the headline reads.

It’s mainly JK and his minions. From what I understand we use NIL’s to keep what we have. Wesco and Moore will take a pretty penny to keep around if they play like they did last Saturday in their first meaningful game.

Loog's comments about the tampering in the portal were right on the money! It is quite simple. Clemson wants to build a relationship with a player before they offer. Since quality players are in the portal for such a short window, the only way to build a relationship is to reach out BEFORE they're in the portal. That's tampering. We won't do that. Go Tigers!

Dabo knows what his limitations are with regards to NIL better than anyone else. While I do believe his desire to build his team through recruiting and player development is sincere, I also have no doubt that if he had the resources of some of the big money programs that he'd take advantage of the portal when appropriate. Anyone who thinks Dabo and our NIL program is sitting on piles of cash that they are refusing to spend on portal players that they could afford is deluding themselves. We are probably lucky to have enough resources to keep our key guys from being poached at this point, much less have enough cash just sitting around to throw huge amounts at other teams players. Dabo decided to use this predicament as a marketing tool to differentiate the program from schools who are clearly focused on nothing but paying whoever will take their cash and I guess we will all continue to see how well it works for us.

you ought to take a clue from Ron Reagan and say, 'Honey, I forgot to duck.
Christians should not cheat to win. Dabo knows that cheating brings hollow victories and does more harm to the soul than good to the ego. A Christian can not maintain a humble and healthy relationship with God by cheating in any facet of life.
We don't get by with lying, fudging anywhere in our lives without facing that one series of verses in Galatians chapter 6:
"7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."
My take on that: Don't let anyone deceive you and don't deceive yourself, don't plant deceit and expect to harvest honor and favor from God.
I know that some here who are, due to ignorance, oblivious to the evil that surrounds the portal but there is no excuse for ignoring this any longer. Dabo won't cheat. If he did he wouldn't fit at Clemson.
I'll take that as honor for our cherished school and our community.

TL has always seemed to be a thinker; unlike the guy with shiney head and big ears. Here is my prediction for college sports. Some lawyer representing a non-athlete college student is goingvto file a class action against a college to gat paid to attend the school just like the athletes. Can you imagine the mess if the student wins?

I'll offer you another angle for future lawsuits. A player transfers to a school and makes several hundred thousand dollars a year through NIL. They graduate, then go semi-pro (XFL, CFL) and make $60k a year. They sue the university for not "properly preparing them for life" or for not providing them the training to keep them "in the lifestyle in which they have grown accustomed". Sadly, it will happen.

I think the portal needs some modifications, if it is going to stay around. I personally hate the portal and I hate seeing it abused by guys jumping in the portal multiple times. The following are some ideas :
1. The portal is only open once a year. When? Not sure. Whenever it would have the least impact on the origin team.
2. You can only use the portal once without penalty. If you use it a second time, sit out a year. No thirds or more.
In the past, I had hoped that Clemson would use the portal, but I am now seeing the wisdom that Dabo has shown with the likes of FSU, Colorado, Louisville, Notre Dame and others who aren't really benefiting greatly. The portal is a double-edge sword as this article brings to light.
Time will tell...
