With all the money in college football there oughta be enough to make officials full time and all working from the same standard. Doesn't make any sense for it not to be.

Dabo has said multiple times the officiating didn’t cost Clemson anything other than momentum. He hasn’t blamed the refs once for the loss.

There are no mirrors in the coaches offices .. blame the refs. Remember after the Loserville game “ We got our buts out coached need to move on “ … the same with Usuc .. rinse and repeat ..

Go to X and set the video in slow motion, Mafah had control of the ball when his knee hit the ground, plus, if the rule still is that the ground can't cause a fumble, Mafah still has control up until his hand hits the ground and the ball pops out. The Ref screwed that call up, but, they were helping the coots that entire game.
Coots were offsides twice as many times as it got called, and that's not even counting the holding call the refs were giving to the coots, also, they were giving the coots pass interference call time after time without throwing a penalty flag. The core said the coots won, but they didn't win without Ref help!!!

For something that has to be indisputable to overturn, there sure are lot of people disputing it. I'd say it's borderline indisputable that it wasn't a fumble, but I'll just go with "call stands" no matter what the call was (same with Wesco catch on sideline)
On top of that, the whistle was blown when Mafah went down. Wesco got his hand on top of the ball after the whistle had been blown, then the SC guy dives in and grabs the ball, along with Wesco's arm. No way that's a clear and immediate recovery. You can't assume Wesco didn't let up any when he heard the whistle.
But wait there's more, after that whistle we snapped the ball for the next play 37 seconds later, and 2-3 seconds after that they blow the play dead. They had over 30 seconds to stop for replay before we snapped it, but they waited until after we snapped and threw the ball, which would've been a nice gain
None of those things alone are the worst thing ever, but when there's 3 different reasons why that should've never been called a fumble, that is one of the worst calls I've ever seen

maybe you need other conference officials to do P5 non-conference games. I know those guys officiate with integrity but its puts these games with monumental $$ outcomes in the crosshairs. Who is actually reviewing these...the SEC office? No wonder the Mafah/Cade debacle was overturned.
There needs to be a P5 officiating standard and put all refs under the same umbrella.
As much as I hate to say it, there is only one way this gets done....Greg Sankey.

Why do we have conference officials at all? The NCAA basically does nothing else... why not let them control officiating nationally? One rule needs to be in the process... Refs are not assigned to games where there is no history with either school or conference like the Pitt game a few years back when one of the refs was a USCjr graduate.

Love Dabo. And I agree we got some bad calls on Saturday, but can he focus his energy on getting his team ready for Smu. Like tackling, like stopping the run, like getting sacks. One of the differences between the Natty teams and what we have had the last few years....the Natty teams were good enough to overcome bad plays and bad calls. Now, we are not. And, we have no leadership on offense or defense. No intensity, going through the motions. So analyze the officials after the season. We got to get our team ready to play at a championship level.

Targeting and whatever now constitutes pass interference seem to be so arbitrary these days. I am utterly confused when I watch a game, so I am sure the players are. There needs to be some clarity.

I think the Ga/ Ga Tech game was the worst that I watched outside of the Miami/ Va Tech hail Mary call. 3 Ga scoring drives were extended on clearly bogus calls. Additionally, the 4th and goal field goal in the second half by Tech should have been 1st and goal after the Ga defender hit the Tech QB in the face while he was laying on the ground right in front of the head ref with not flag. Refs are bought and paid for.

Right now what we have is officials who are biased, dishonest and have no national governing body which has the power to dismiss the dishonest.
Who gets a job like that other than politicians and brothers in laws?
