Go Tigers!!

Same for me. And I am all-in no matter what. And am optimistic about the coming year.

What is a struggle for me though is connecting the dots that more experiences leads to doing the little things right which leads to less fumbles at the goal line. I just don't see this connections. They teach you how not to fumble in first year of little kid football. What little things does it take 3 years at a power5 school to learn? I'm not being sarcastic - I really want to understand.

For the fun of it I rewatched the Clemson-OSU game from 2019 playoff last night. That was a sophomore quarterback (Trevor) (granted he was a generational talent) who didn't fumble, didn't throw an interception, read a sophisticated defense, and made plays when we needed them. Anyway, it was a joy to watch and a reminder of how much faster we were at the skill positions then.

Absolutely agree. These guys have been playing football since they were in elementary school. There is no way that a good athlete should still be learning the basics at the college level.

I am thinking the 'little things' reference is about the small mental mistakes that allow the defense to get into a position to stop you or make a play on you that you shouldn't have let happen. Kind of like distracted driving - you just weren't paying enough attention and bad things happened.

I want Cade to win every game that he's in, but I'm hoping that he doesn't allow the QB that he replaced, beat him...

I wonder who the guys were he talked to and got tips from. If he just comes in with more confidence and awareness within the offense it'll do wonders. Just about everything was mental mistakes that costed us in key situations.

To say that everyone now more experienced sounds good but makes little sense. Is there anyone on the team that hasn't been playing football since they were 10 years old? No one should just be learning how to play. At this stage they can tweek their game, but should be solid players or they wouldn't be on scholarship at a school like Clemson.

The hope is that Coach Luke will make a marked difference in the OL's play. If this pans out, things should get better for CK and the WRs. Not perfect, but better. How far that will take us is yet to be determined. But we can hope.

Have you ever improved at anything?

Seriously?

Nice first post.

If you're legit, then use your brain. I'm probably better at the job I've been doing (for years) than I was a year ago. Do the math.

If you're not legit, go back to playing video games in your mother's basement, pulling for the Gamecocks...and other things.

You don’t think there’s a difference between football at 10 years old and a new offensive system at a D1 school 🤣🤣🤣

If you've been playing all those years you should know all of the basics inside and out and all you are learning at this stage is finesse and the playbook. Of course people get better the longer they do something, but last year's team wasn't supposed to be starting from scratch, they should have known the basics cold.

You didn't really say that... C'mon Man. No one is just learning to play... BUT there is always room for improvement.

It seemed to me like Cade wasn’t comfortable or confident in the pocket and bailed out really early a lot last year. If the OLine is better and Cade can be less jumpy, that should help a lot with the offense. We will know very soon because we know GA will put the pressure on him.

Well, I'll be pulling for him but he's got to improve the decision making, improve his checkdowns and improve his pocket awareness. Hopefully, this is the year the light bulb goes on. Fingers crossed.

100% agree with Ridgeland Booster. Was going to post pretty much the same thing. Cade seems like an amazing young man and I hope he plays lights out this year. Go Tigers!!

I just hope our OL can consistently give Cade some time to operate and check his receiver options, rather than running for his life from the time the ball is snapped. Then, I believe we can really make an informed judgement as to whether he is “the guy”, or if a change must be made. And, I hope that decision can come sooner, rather than later.

Improved OL and WR should help him play better. Emphasis on "Should".
