There you have it! David Hood stating clearly and unambiguously that Wes Goodwin is no longer affiliated with Clemson's football program.

David was diplomatic as usual with respect to the coaches but made it clear.

That's fine, most of us suspected that Wes was most likely gone, and I feel that Wes himself had that same feeling bc I'm sure that he and Dabo has some serious conversations during the season about his performance in his 3d season as the DC especially after the Citadel game and giving up 200 plus yards on the ground, and then giving up a bunch of yards to the coots in back to back games.
We all know and have seen since BV's departure that our D has seemed to of lost their mental and physical toughness and we're talking about having pretty near a full defensive roster of elite players. Plus, it has been that Wes has been Gun shy about blitzing, and when he did blitz he seemed uneasy about blitzing more than one guy at the same time that made what he was doing with the blitz useless especially in situations when we needed to really put pressure on their QB. IMO the way that Wes run his blitz packages was like a hunter walking through the woods and shooting his gun in the air hoping to scare the game out when the only thing they are doing in wasting shells, just like only blitzing one player is wasting that player. IMHO opinion, Wes run his defense like he was worried about failing or looking bad when the way that he did thing was making him look bad...
Another thing, David said that without Cade next season that we wouldn't make the playoffs, and that makes me wonder if he's seen things with Vizzina at the practices they have been allowed to watch that would make him think that Vizzina wasn't close to being the QB that our coaches thought that he would be. If that's the case with Vizzina, Dabo really needs to find enough money that will get a DW4 or a TL16 like QB and plant him into our offense and give him plenty of touches for when Cade is off to the NFL. Just saying bc David did seem sure we wouldn't be a playoff team with Vizzina, and without saying his name we all feel that Vizzina will be our next starting QB. and if Cade would've left for the NFL after this past season, Vizzina would've had a full season under his belt and if he wouldn't have been ready to lead our FB team at least to the playoffs, and if not we're in desperate need of a starting QB that can lead the talent that we'll have coming back next season to the playoffs bc we should be in better shape on the offensive side of the ball this coming season than we've been in for a long... time!!!

We all knew there was no “stepping back” for him. He was elevated without true qualifications, much like Skreeter was a few years back. Get a Riley-like DC who instills grit and guts back in the program.
Dabo has to realize you don’t put the “moneyball” analysts in charge, you use them to feed the data to the DC and OC. Now focus on an actual Special Teams coach who will reverse the joke that is our kicking game and the third leg of the stool will match up.
Last thing, Coach Dabo Swinney. Once you make the hires, let them do their jobs. It’s obvious when you meddle or call plays. For the love of Clemson, stop, stop, staaaaaahp.
