I thought that it started the beginning of March. The Spring is in early April and I think they take a break a week in the middle of 15 practices.

Generally speaking, no. They may let the press watch a few minutes, but not the entire session. There used to be an informal gathering named after Scooby where a group of fans tailgated and ventured down to watch practice in small groups. I never went, but heard it was a blast if you happened to live in the area.

you want something positive, you sure didn't say anything positive about our basketball team. All you said was that you didn't watch and was Brownell still the coach.
