which he really doesn't seem to think is all that bad, is for receivers to do a better job of catching the ball, and for us to quit fumbling. Just do a little better on those things and we are good to go. Having the 70th ranked offense in the country is no problem, or at least it's no big deal. It's more important that our safeties play better. But don't you dare question DJ; the fact that we dropped 3 passes yesterday is the reason he went 8 for 29, and only 4 of those 8 completions was thrown past the line of scrimmage, has little to do with DJ. At the end of the day, our offensive coordinator has little to do with our miserable offense, and our QB has little to do with our poor passing game. We need our safeties to play better, and we need to quit turning the ball over - stay focused on that.
It's really hard for me to comprehend or accept what is happening here.

It was very weird listening to the ACC title game interview and he kept harping on dropped passes. Weren't there only 3? I mean, sure DJ can't catch the ball but if THAT was his take away as to why things went south yesterday then he's straining at gnats and swallowing camels.

And the drop by Ngata at the goal line doesn’t matter because we scored on that drive anyways.. the dropped passes did not cost Clemson this game.. the fact that the continued to try passing when the coaches saw it not working cost them the game.

We do have some pretty pisspoor receivers this year

There is no one that seems to dependable. It’s crazy how fast they fell off. As bad we played Saturday in that second half they still gave us 2 more chances to win it. But no one can catch. Williams just has quit. BT would’ve hit from 50 if we could get there. Just needed one drive. But we got too used to the 3 and outs.

I’ve always found it off that DJ has to be coddled to be my in every game. We have to throw lots of swing passes, and screens to get him into a rhythm before we even begin to attack mid range, or vertically. Seems like someone who gets shaken far to easily, and is not very mentally tough. Definitely not the type of leader we’ve come accustomed to at the QB position.

Cade must really be struggling if DJ continues as QB. DJ is bad and cant throw the ball accurately into the ocean. Makes me worried about the future. Unless the incoming QB plays good might be another year wasted.

I very much doubt Cade is struggling in practice this late in the year.

Cade may not be practicing with our first team WRs (whoever they are). That creates a problem with game time. Course, we can't get any worse, can we?

You would prob drop the ball too if it actually got to a spot where you could possibly catch it and even then is wobbling like a wounded duck

drop a few passes, so that's all true, but DJ stunk it up beyond belief for the whole world to see, yet no apparent consideration was given to pulling him, and somehow that whole conversation is not only completely off limits, any hint of it draws anger. Something is badly out of whack here, and is truly bizarre.

Wonder if they’ve ever considered maybe the receivers drop some balls because 8 out of 10 times the ball is not accurate or delivered late so maybe they are in shock when it’s actually there ?♂️?♂️?♂️

No adjustments. LT in a boot all week. Had a bad game against Miami. Maybe give him some TE help. Not throwing to TEs anyway.

If I was a receiver I’d get pretty tired of taking all the blame for the worst qb in p5 football.
Dabo is officially do the same thing and expect different results at this point. SMH.

So let me get this straight. Coach Swinney says no fumbles and receivers catch the ball and everything looks different. In considering yesterday's game that sounds pretty spot on. Notre dame? Different story but at 11-1 are you still complaining? Sounds like coach is right.

So I do acknowledge that we did some other things poorly. I'm not discounting those things at all. My point is that Dabo completely ignores the elephant in the room, which is DJ's poor play, and get's angry when anybody brings it up, and deflects to the other problems instead.

Remember when Watson was leaping guys and broke his finger stiff-arming a defender on a run and beat the poultry with literally ONE working leg? Remember against Syracuse in his first start lowering his shoulder and putting a hit on a defender forcing Chase to come in and WIN the game for us? Those 3 guys are Clemson QB’s.

I didn’t watch the Usuck game and I won’t be wasting a Saturday watching the ACC Champ either.
Same applies to next year. If drastic changes (and drastic = some coaching changes, not just a change at QB1) don’t happen, I won’t be attending or watching any games. I have better things to do on fall Saturdays.

Sounds to me like he saying his whole team sucks. And somehow they missed getting the ball to Shipley in the 4th quarter, so he is saying coaching/play calling sucks. OC can't explain how they forgot to get the TEs involved. Who is in charge of this sucking thing?

Didn't watch the game due to several errands with the kids so when my son revealed the result my first thought was the TEs most likely weren't given much if any opportunity to impact the game. Also CDS wasn't able to answer a post game question about whether the coots were able to reduce their productivity. That group has been the most reliable these last two seasons yet no game plan has been developed to effectively use them consistently in the offense.
