Seems to be a common misnomer about NIL

Often see people talking about tv money and school revenue making for better NIL deals. Read some similar stuff below about university proceeds from the Banana Ball event could be used for NIL. Not true.

Just a reminder that NIL does not come from the schools. It doesn’t matter what conference you’re in or tv money or any of that. NIL is primarily from collectives (fans) and brand partnerships. How much money the school makes has nothing to do with it.

Now hopefully it will eventually change to what they’re talking about with straight revenue sharing where each school can allocate a cap of $20.5 million, but for now the school pays nothing towards NIL.

$20.5mil is basically the same as NIL and then you have 150 new schollies. That all comes from the AD budget so if Neff can make money from other arenas, why not praise his efforts? We don't want Dabo's budget cut to salvage olympic sports on campus.
